Well, looks like I'm ready to jump into the world of vaping...but wow, what a bunch of overwhelming information! I've managed to learn some things and confuse myself, all at the same time!

First off, I've found the one I think I'd like to buy. Is First Vapor a reputable vendor? Anyone had experience with them? They have a snazzy hot pink number that I really dig...bigger battery, etc., seems priced about right. And it's hot pink. Did I mention that? :hubba:

Secondly, about juices...is mixing your own advised, or is it just easier to get some premades to begin with? I don't really want to be doing too much fiddly stuff as I'm starting out and get overwhelmed. And I have NO idea how much to start off with. Will a few small sample bottles be enough to last me a couple of weeks (I currently smoke a pack a day)? I'm definitely on a budget and don't want to spend too much to start with, but I don't want to run out in three days and smoke analogs while I'm waiting for more juice.

Third, cartomizers replace an atomizer and cartridge, correct? Which option is cheaper overall in the long run?

I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go, but those are my main ones for now. Thanks!

That looks like a nice kit. Big battery and they are a registered vendor.

I imagine cartridges & atty are cheaper because you can refill and wash them out. Everyone has a personal preference and mine is cartomizers. They hold more juice and they're easier to fill. I find the carts a little messy.

I'd get about 30 ml of juice in varying nicotine strengths to start. The carts definitely will come in handy to 'test' juice because once you fill a cartomizer you're pretty much committed. It's not easy to remove juice from a cartomizer. Most people vape from 1-3 ml a day, so that's anywhere from 7- 21 ml a week. If you get a juice you don't like, don't panic. Put it away for a while. Tastes change plus some juice needs to steep a bit to reach it's full potential.

I get my juice from nhaler, Backwoods brew, & Vapor Bomb but there are tons of great juice suppliers out there. Read through the juice review section.

Good luck!

Hi! Welcome to ECF!

I don't know anything about First Vapor - there's a link at the top of the page to Forum Suppliers. You didn't say what pink fat-batt number you were looking at, but Liberty Flights has a pink eGo for $39.99. Click 20% off top-left of the page.

Just starting out I would plan on 3 to 5 ml of liquid per day, but it's all going to depend on how often you vape. Many use much less than that, some use much more.

Yes, cartomizers replace an atomizer and cartridge. I think in the longrun atomizers are cheaper. They cost more but last longer. Everyone gets different results but if you're going to give up smoking with ecigs, it's going to boil down to which system gives you the most satisfaction. Either way can be much less expensive than smoking.

DIY (do it yourself - mix your own) can save you money on e-liquid and it isn't difficult. Check out the DIY Forum to learn more about it.

• Snazzy hot pink and a big batt? Go for it!

• People mix their own juice so they can save money and get the exact flavor they like. It's not necessary to mix your own. Most people go through about 3ml per day (you can do the math from there, yes?).

• Cheapest option is getting a drip tip to put on your atomizer instead of carts; no filler to replace, no cartomizers to replace, just drip and vape.

I would take a look at liberty-flights.com there ego or riva kits run a lot cheaper. You can get some LR510 or LR306 attys from
Them too. LR306 work get for dripping on the ego. Plus that extra money you safe can good towards juices and extras

LOL! I was thinking that too... But, the bigger battery is much nicer to have. Not that there is anything wrong with the Riva or Joye batteries, and they do last a long time. I was just thinking with the bigger battery you could try the echo cartomizer or the dual coil cartos and not drain your battery.

I was going to recommond the echo too but I don't want poor JanuarySun to run screaming from the board. I know when I first started reading here my head was ready to explode.

It appears that the coupon code ECF is still good at first vapor, so if you go with that kit it'll save you a little. I wouldn't jump into mixing your own juice just yet. There are a lot of great flavors out there to try. Cartomizers are great, but as others have said, they're probably a little more expensive in the long run unless you really get good mileage out of them. I would recommend atomizers to start with until you find some juices you are happy with. Good luck and let us know how you like it.

Hi and welcome, I just started out too and I'm right there with you about how overwhelming all this information is, but don't get discouraged, the search button has been my best friend lately and the more I read the more I start to understand what the heck everyone is talking about lol.

as far as juices go I would check around the forum before you choose a supplier, personally I went with Gourmetvapor, they have a sale right now for 50% off with coupon code, I just went ahead and bought 17 5ml samples for 35 bucks plus shipping, hopefully I’ll find something that I like :)

Oh...wow. That's a significant savings on the Riva. How unfortunate that it doesn't come in hot pink. However, for a nearly 20-dollar difference, I may have to settle for regular ol' pink.

So another question...I can just refill the carts with teabag, right? I just watched a video demonstration. I just wash the carts and refill and they're ready to go, yes? That seems like a huge money saver.

And thank you guys that have helped me so far! You rock!:headbang:
