What up? I am new here. I signed up to ask about specifically ecigs. I am a previous smoker that quit cold turkey about 6 years ago and just picked up a Vise Vibe while vacationing and bored.
Just wondering if those are good products or "safe" and I know nothing is really.
Currently not interested in anything bulkier as I like the lightweight compactness that can sit next to my phone in my pocket.

Is there anything better out there?

Howdy and welcome :)
Safe? Vastly safer than cigarettes for sure. Iirc the British health department did a study and rated them 1 1000th as dangerous as cigarettes. I’m not familiar with the thing you picked up so I can’t tell you, but the cigalike section may have more to say on it.

Well, Vuse products are cheap-to-make and comparatively poor tobacco company products. You pay a lot of money for the privilege of vaping such 3rd rate systems.

So, yes... there is a whole world out there of much better vaping products.

In the UK, we trust the health professionals who are not in the pockets of tobacco or pharmaceutical companies and are interested in harm reduction. Public health England estimates e-cigarettes to be *at least* 95% safer than smoking. That means no, vaping isn't 100% safe, but it's far, far safer than smoking.

The tobacco companies 'collected' (bought out) many of the products originally on the market; plastic cig-a-like products that use refills to get your money. I used a refill system in 2013. It would have cost me $4,000 a year. I vape now for $500 a year. Better products, better experience, better in every way. It involves taking a leap of faith and straying from the path of what spending millions of $ advertising buys the tobacco corporations. They want to own vaping and in Europe they actually tried (and failed to a greater extent) to kill off vaping companies and independent products.

There are lots of small (stealth) products out there offering so much more for so much less. You can vape tobacco flavor or branch out. I enjoy both.

Pod systems are popular in the US. I haven't seen them gaining much momentum in the UK and most of the old style cig-a-likes are found in the bargain bins at bargain stores.
You could try a Pod. I personally wouldn't unless you can 'hack' the refills or they are designed to be refilled, otherwise you are just a slave to very greedy people who have no boundaries.
It's not that cig-a-likes are all bad... with enough nicotine they can sort of work.
Pod systems are good, and should make cig-a-likes close to extinction.
Vibe is a hybrid refill and old-style battery type product.

Think of it like printer ink. The ink and the cartridge together make the product. This (pod/refill) is the holy grail for vaping companies and tobacco companies. The profits are teed up if you can convince enough people. I could just about use a vaping company one (although the cost would hurt), but never a tobacco company one.

I also quit for years and restarted on e-cigarettes. I quit mostly because I was physically no longer capable of smoking. Nicotine really helps me control my anxiety issues though.

I looked up your ecig online is it perhaps a “vuse vibe” rather than vise?
If so I do know a little bit. It is on the higher end of what is known as “gas station garbage”. It’s quite a bit like an old fashioned kanger ego device except much more expensive. As far as is there anything better I can fairly comfortably say it is hard to find anything worse, so yes. It’s about the same form factor as a innokin endura t18 for example which is a vastly better vape

Of course, it doesn't really matter what you vape ($$) if you are just puffing away a few times a day or if any price is cheaper and healthier than smoking. But for the committed convert to vaping from smoking there are ways to reduce cost and improve satisfaction (exponentially) and stay off the smokes forever. The industry itself, tobacco or not, is awash with sharks and wannabes. There are endless brands touting for business selling products at extortionate prices hiding the fact everything comes from China (hardware) and very few products are unique. Tobacco don't really play that game. They just invest millions to make billions and just want to secure their profits as smoking rates plummet in developed countries.
The last tobacco company product I tried was yesterday. It was so bad, I can barely express the disappointment. It barely vaped, it ran out in 120 puffs and claimed to be the equivalent of 40 cigarettes. 2013 alive and well... all over again. Groundhog day.

.. and now I am geo-blocked from accessing Vuse. Funny how these things work. Do they know I am commenting on their 'premium' products on the ECF? The mind boggles.

(I'll step away now...)

(Time to hang up the crusader cape and settle in for some caramel tobacco with a late night book)

Hi, Welcome to ECF. There are better devices out there in my opinion (more robust vape, less expensive and etc.) If your vuse is working for you though, you may want to continue using it, even as a backup. I will usually recommend a Nautilus 2 tank with whatever battery suits you (a pico mod, a zelos mod, etc.) that will have longer battery life and the whole setup is more adjustable plus cheaper to operate. I'd suggest checking out some other recommendations too, such as the Melo II tank (that will come on a starter pico setup if you choose the right one) an ego one mega tank (very adjustable as to coils) or something of that sort. In those setups you would be loading the tanks yourself with ejuice you purchase, which is also much less expensive than buying replacement mods.

Best of luck, and welcome to ECF.

I used VUSE for the 1st week or 2 to quit smoking and still have a few in reserve. They're very strong and the clerk at my corner store says some people really crave them.

As others have said, you'll have a much better experience by going to the next level. Aside from the money you'll save, you can select the juice mix and nicotine level. I like the T18 because it's light and simple and the Aspire Zelos kit for it's flexibility.
