Hi all,
I have been lurking here for a while and decided that I needed to make an account. I just bought my first "real" setup after several months of vaping for fun with gas station quality disposables. I vape as a hobby, with no nicotine, and to be able to continue to hang around my smoking friends. I decided it was time to upgrade from a disposable because I didn't like how much pg was in them, it irritates my throat. So, after a bunch of research I decided on a Kangertech Pro tank 3 and a Vision Spinner battery. That was about 2.5 weeks ago. I would say it is a good tank, and a good battery. Minus smudging, I have had some problems though. It might be that I'm just a noob, however. And, surprisingly, so far I have been able to fix them. Until today.

I am not getting anything, any vapor that is, on a fully charged battery. I assume its something to do with my tank, because it did this before and it went away after I switched coils. Here is my current dilemma as I can best describe it:

-(My initial problem) I set up my battery and tank using Coil 1. Coil 1 worked for about 2 weeks, and then Coil 1 started giving me problems, so I switched to Coil 2. Coil 2 gave me problems so I switched back to Coil 1 and it worked again.

-(Current problem) Now, after switching the coils around again I am not getting any vapor. Any ideas?

Thanks everyone:)

average life on a coil for me is about 22-25ml of eliquid - for me this is 4-5 days, for a friend of mine this is 21-30 days, you can also run into bad coils right out of the box - dual coils have twice the chances to have a failure or short as the single coils and if only 1 of the coils is working then you are at 3.6 to 4 ohm on a 1.8 to 2 ohm dual coil head

Due to the short life my coils have I have given up on dual coils and only do single coils I can rebuild myself (monthly cost of coils for me is under $2 and about an hour to build 6-7 coils - I get distracted easily :( )

Unfortunately the Kanger 3 does not accept regular single coil heads and the dual coil heads takes a LOT of flavor wicking to keep from flooding

good luck and welcome to the ECF

Welcome to ECF!

Before doing any further troubleshooting, I would highly recommend getting Aerobase for your tank. It will give you adjustable airflow and sealed pin to prevent any leak.
Kanger AeroTank Base also known as the Aerobase

Some tips
Life of atomizer head is heavily depend on the type of juice. Darker juice tend to gunk up really fast and "kill" the head faster. Hence your mileage will really vary depending on the juice.
You CAN use single coil atomizer head (used in ProTank I/II) on ProTank III/AeroTank.
Atomizer head quality can be hit or miss. So, be sure to have lots of spare on-hand.

Now, on the topic.
There is a big difference between getting "dry" hit versus "no" hit. If you are getting "dry" or "bad quality" hit, it is more likely the aging atomizer head. However, if you are getting "no" hit and head wouldn't fire at all, it is completely different problem. It means the atomizer head isn't making the electrical contact with the battery. Hence, you should be checking how flush the center post is and also check if the center post on the mod is clean. Fact that swapping atomizer head would work and wouldn't work tells me it is most likely the contact issue. So, I would start there.

Also, if you haven't learn it already, be sure to learn and perform necessary priming when using a brand new atomizer head. It helps to prevent coil popping and dry hits.
