I have wanted to quit smoking for a while. I know for me it's a boredom habit as much as a nicotine addiction, if I'm busy I can go for hours no problem - but bored I last maybe 30 minutes before I am dying to smoke. I'm hoping an E-cig will help with the boredom part of quitting & I'm excited to try it! That said, I know ZERO but E-cigs how they work or where to even start. I do know that I plan to use it as a crutch to help me quit and I hope that once I get "over the hump" I give up E-cigs also. I copied a questionnaire I found browsing this site & hope by my answering these questions some of you can guide me in the right direction!!! Thanks in advance for any & all help :thumb:

1. How many cigarettes did you smoke or are currently smoking per day? 20-25

2. Did you smoke ultra lights, lights, full flavor, filter-less, roll-your-own or cigars? Ultra Lights

3. How important is it for your electronic cigarette (also called a mod, PV or APV) to look like and feel like a cigarette to you? Important but not the deciding factor - nothing super big though

3. Do you like things big, bulky and durable or do you prefer small and compact? Cigarette sized or close

4. Which shape is more pleasing to you to hold: something cylindrical or a box shape? Round

5.How long would you like or need the batteries to last in a typical day.For some this an 8 hour shift or could be 16 or more hours depending on your lifestyle. I think 8 hours is ok - maybe a spare charged battery?

6. How much effort do you want to put into vaping? Do you want something that requires little effort or are you more of a tinkerer? Generally extremely active lifestyles or someone who's constantly on the go doesn't have a lot of time but the reverse could be true for you as well. Keep it simple! Prefilled cartridges - no mixing, filling or science projects!

7.Do you think you would prefer tobacco, menthol, fruit and candy or dessert flavors? Tobacco at first & fruity/candy to try also since I LOVE sweet stuff!

8.Do you think you would like a warmer or a cooler vape? (A warm vape uses higher voltage or lower resistances to make the vapor warmer in your mouth while a cool vape works just the opposite) Also let us know if you have sensitivities to cold or an aversion to hot liquids. I think cooler, definately not hot - kinda unsure

9. What is more important to you, throat hit (that feeling of weight or tickle hitting the back of your throat when you inhale) , vapor production (the amount of vapor or steam produced by your device and/or e-liquid) orflavor(The intensity of the taste of the vapor)? Again its okay to have more than one answer but please list them in order of importance. vapor, I like the way it looks - easy on my throat

10.Which is more important to you, price, quality, ease of use, or reliability? Its okay to have more than one answer just list them in order of importance. ease of use, reliability, price, quality in order

11.How much are you looking to spend on your initial purchase or upgrade? 100 or less - is that reasonable?

12. Have you looked at any other accessories such as clearomizers, cartomizers, tanks, pre-filled cartidges etc and do you have any questions about how they work or what they are? All questions - no idea!!

13. Would you feel more comfortable vaping (popular term used to refer to inhaling vapor from an electronic cigarette, mod, PV or APV) in public or do you prefer to do it in private? Mostly private

14. Whats your favorite color? Dark shades of blue

15. Do you have any disabilities or other difficulties that might have a bearing on your choice? ex: some peoples wrists aren't strong enough to hold a big battery mod or their eyesight doesnt allow easy filling of ejuice (the liquid containing nicotine and flavoring used in electronic cigarettes, also referred to as nicquid or e-liquid) none

16. Have you thought about securing backup devices in the event of failure or purchasing extra batteries? extra battery already mentioned above
17. Do you think you would prefer a battery that starts at 3.7 volts and gradually drops in voltage and vapor production as it drains or would you prefer the voltage to stay the same throughout the life of the battery? same i think?

Hi and welcome! Yes - 2 batteries - absolutely! You don't want to have to sit and wait with nothing to vape while the battery charges. You will get tons, tons, (did I say tons?) of suggestions. All helpful, vaping is a learning curve and no one wants you to have to spend the money we did to find what worked for you. But "for you" is just that - you might not like what I love!

For cigarette sized, Volt and eRoll seem to get the most votes. I'm an eGo Twist/carto tank person myself, but if I had seen that set-up right off the bat it would have scared me. It looks like something out of Blade Runner.

Welcome motek!

Everyone has a little bit of a difference of preference on what they like to use. Me personally I like my provari mini and an joye ego twist. I use them both with 510 BOGO XXL 3.0 ohm cartomizer with a tank.

With my provari mini I can get about 8-10 hours out of each battery vs my ego battery I can get about 12 hours on it! It will very from user to user

I use 11nic e juices, I have some Tabacco flavors but mostly use fruit type flavors cause of the fact it's somethig that I can vape all day. Some people user higher nic levels like 18 or 24 to help keep the craving off of cigrettes and then slowly making their way down the nic level. Typically the higher nic level you go with the hard the throat hit is. But to high nic level it will probably use hurt and you won't like that harsh of a hit

A lot of new people seem to go with a ego twist or a vision spinner which are basically comparable the same device, alon with some type of carto tanks. You can check out gotvapes.com I believe they carry both versions. My only real advice it do some research and read what other users are going with vs what some more advance people are using and figure out which one is best for you. Me like many other people have spend a lot of money trying to figure out what works best for us

I was a pack a day + smoker. I tried those look-a-like types and none of them worked for me. The look-a-likes were actually costing me more money than smoking was. There is also a world of flavor out there for you. Check out what others are using and go from there. For inexpensive start ups I would recommend the eGo twist or vision spinner. I'm actually waiting for a spinner to come in the mail now. Just another type for me to try. Something I have noticed is that vaping has become a hobby for me as well as a smoking alternative. I love that there is so much in the way of choice and I want to try them all.

So I did a little window shopping & I really like the look of the eRoll! It looks like everything I want in one package after watching some video's on youtube. Now I have more questions though:unsure:

Is this a reliable brand or is there a closely similar that is better?
Where do I buy the eRoll other than the manufacturers website?
If I buy the starter kit I'm assuming it has everything I need, am I wrong?
From the video I'm gathering you fill the cartridges yourself - does anything come with the starter kit to well...start?
Where do you buy the cartridge refill? I read something about PG vs VG? Does that matter? Is one safer? Better tasting? I'd like to find maybe a newbie sample pack that has different flavors to try.

Thanks!
