Ive recently been trying different brands, strengths and flavors of ecigs. Ive had some good experiences and some bad ones, mostly with feeling "spacey" or sick. Heres some background info before I start firing off questions:

-I smoke about 1.25 packs of American Spirit lights A day.

-Ive smoked for about 10 years

-I desperately want to quit smoking any kind of cigarette and am pretty much willing to try anything to get there.

-I dont drink or use any recreational drugs other than cigarettes.

- I usually don't have any dreams at night, and almost never any that I can remember even a few seconds after waking.

So, my first experience was with one of the more popular companies (Im not sure if its okay to name them) and the cartridges made me feel very sick, kind of "high" for lack of a better term. Ive recently switched to a new company which I like better, but im still taking about one or two puffs off of the light cartridge at a time spaced out between a few hours to avoid feeling sick. I also have been having very vivid and non-stop dreams when I sleep at night.

At first I thought this was due to the nicotine and perhaps just absorbing more than I was used to, after all I smoke a "natural" cigarette and its a light so there isnt supposed to be much nicotine. Now Im not so sure. I quit using e-cigs for about a week and went back to my regular smokes with no ill-effects. I ordered some "zero" nicotine cartridges hoping that just being able to smoke something might help me smoke less regular cigs. Heres what I have experienced:

I first got the zero cartridges yesterday and left them alone until yesterday evening. I smoked about 20 pulls on one of the cartridges to see if it would make me feel weird like the nicotine ones did. It did, but not nearly as much so I was pretty happy about it. However, the dreams are back in a huge way. Very vivid and from (what seems like) the second I fall asleep. I wake up when the dreams are "over"..like the plot ends or thickens.. and as soon as Im back to sleep there they are again. I can remember the dreams very very well even at this moment.

So I guess my first question is does anyone have any conclusive evidence that PG might cause or is unable to cause these dreams? As I said there is no nicotine in these cartridges. Im willing to listen to theories here but Id much prefer examples and or evidence.

I see that a lot of people report such dreams, my question to these users would be, do they go away after a while?

Thanks for the time guys

PG and VG both can have side effects, usually aches, dry-mouth, ........, etc... I doubt its a reaction to either.
You don't get the amount of Nicotine from an e-cig as a regular one. I think its like .1% nic cigarette per puff as to .01% nic per e-cig puff. Maybe you are experiencing reactions to coming off of regular cigarettes.

Just a thought.... :)

Here's what I would do in order to find out some things. First off your 0mg carto's that you tried could be acting like a placebo effect after using the real ecigs and the liquid Nicotine, I think you where using to high of an MG in your ecig thus effecting you and making you dream possibly, (this is only my thoughts) Try a Nicotine patch somewhere around the same MG you where using and see if you have these same vivid dreams, you didn't say what MG you where using while using the cartos with Nic in them ? try going a little bit lower on you Nic than the ones you where using, Nic effects everyone different. I tried quitting using the patch and I had these same Vivid and scary dreams, really scary. Once I started vaping I had some of these dreams too, I lowered my nic intake and they went away. vaping can have some side effects, it has on me, but I just kept with it and they slowly went away, a couple I still have is my heart races when I over do it and it also has been raising my blood sugars. If you where vaping 24mg cartos or Nic, drop down to say 16 or even 12MG and see what happens everyone has a different make up and is effected differently.

Sorry, to clarify Im still smoking regular cigarettes since Im smoking the Zero nicotine e-cigs so it's not withdrawal. I smoked the usual amount of regular cigarettes yesterday and Im doing the same today, my hopes are that I can slowly switch over to more zero e-cig and less regular cigarettes. Im not "coming off" of regular cigarettes at all quite yet, I did try a week ago but I havent had any withdrawal symptoms since switching back to my regular smokes right after. Had no dreams until I tried the zero e-cigs yesterday, again smoking regular cigarettes the whole way to get my nicotine fix.

The "light" carts I used a week ago were 6mg. Today I am again smoking regular cigs and occasionally puffing on the zero carts. I will let you guys know if the dreams continue tonight.

Is there a way I can test to see if Im allergic to PG without having an allergy panel?

Thanks again

Hi Turkey: I have been vaping for over 3 months, and have much more vivid dreams and a lot more often. Most of my liquid is VG, but my prefilled cartos are a mixture of PG and VG before I refill them. I use some 6mg nic. and some 18 mg., and sometimes dilute them with 0 nic. It doesn't seem to matter which I puff on, I have the dreams. So, yes, vaping can cause vivid dreams--what exactly causes that seems to need more research. But I have read several comments from other people saying exactly the same thing--dreaming seems to be a common side effect of vaping.
