Hi there I figured I might as well introduce myself I have been lurking around these forums about a month right now and have been vaping for about as long.

A little about me. I used to be a soldier in the US army and after my third tour overseas( 2 Iraq, 1 Afghan) I realized that I was smoking waay too much, about 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day. So I decided to get on the e cig train. My first purchase was the blu starter pack. I am not going to really knock the blu that hard because it did what I needed it to and that was to get me off the analogs. Not even a week later I was placing an order with cignot for a 510 kit. Honestly the 510 was everything that I wanted in a e-cig, but the battery was kinda lame. So I got an eGo from my local mall vendor and he gave me a really good deal. I know all of you have your opinions on buying from mall vendors, but if you have a little bit of knowledge it really helps in not being sold some junk that you don't want. Anyway I didn't even have the eGo more than a couple days when I put my order in for a silver bullet. My mistake with that one because I thought I was being slick and ordering my batteries and charger from china for cheap. Now I am looking at a SB with no bats or charger quietly stalking my mailman waiting for them to show up. Oh well live and learn.

On another note. I know this looks like a ton of hardware purchases up front, but recently coming back from a deployment I have a little extra $$ laying around. Now I am not saying that I have been disappointed with any of my purchases thus far. Even the blu had some redeeming qualities. I think I have a new addiction to pv/gadget purchases. I hope once the SB batts show it will be just the eGo/SB from here on out or at least the near future.

Anyway this is a great place and a lot of good info for anyone getting into vaping.

Mr. unknown, sir, I came of age just after the Viet Nam conflict and was given a decent job with GM right out of high school so I'v never known the pleas.... experience of service to my country. I greatly respect and empathize with those who have though. So thank you.
I think you'll be all set when your batteries swim over here from Asia. For a while, anyway. The SB is a nice unit.
I wish you good luck with all your transitions.

Welcome to ECF and thanks for your service! I'm glad you've made the switch to vaping, I have a Marine buddy that just got back and I'm trying to get him to switch to vaping too. Anyways I went pretty much the same path as you, started with a 510, then Blu, eGo, Screwdriver, and now my silver bullet, which I stick with full time. The 18650 batteries will last you for a couple days usually, also try out 2 3V batteries for 6V vaping sometime and see which you like more. I switch back and forth.

So Welcome to ECF, if you have any questions feel free to ask

Hey unknownsoldier4958 and welcome to the forums.

Totally agree with you on the the stepping only upwards with purchases, i went 401-> Tornado-> Riva -> JuiceFeed Mod (Soon).

Maybe a good non-step down, but rather step sideways for you could be a USB passthrough, to help "pass" the time whilst you wait for the other equip to arrive.:D
