Hi all,

I'm a newbie at all this e-cigarette stuff, but I'm learning quickly.
It's great to see a community set up for this stuff.

Just bought some kr808d-1 stuff to start, as a friend had a v2, and said how happy he was with it.

I'll expand my story later on why I've started vaping...
Starting from the off, I'll come clean, and let you know I'm previously a non-smoker, so please go easy on me!
(I say this, as I've read a little where people go off on a rant about non-smokers - I have my reasons - so please don't be quick to judge)

Cheers,

- Chunkmister.

Some people will rant on you just because that is how they communicate, ignore them. Welcome to ECF and happy vaping!

Thanks for the welcome. :)

My reason for starting vaping is based on one thing and driven by another.
I was told by the doc I was diabetic, and I argued it blind, as I was showing none of the symptoms (hypers / hypos, etc).. other than drinking a lot.... ....and I mean a lot - we're talking 6-8 litre a day - 2-4 in work, and the rest when I got home. Nights? Well, what goes in must come out, so I'm up a couple of times in the night.

My thought was that this was driven by habit - just the habit of picking up my bottle and drinking, so a friend who was new to this suggested I try.

Now, I'm not suggesting this is a cure - that's a stupid idea, but from my experience since I've started doing this, I've reduced my intake to 0.5 litre in work, and another 0.5 to 1 litre when I get home. A massive reduction from the 6-8 litre I was at. This has obviously eased my nightly routine ;)

So, the physical action of picking up my drink has been replaced by picking up my vape stick.
(and I feel much happier about it too)

Unique vaping story and I hope this works well for you, chunkmeister.

The only reason I ever fought stopping my analogs was my worry that I was seriously tied to the hand to mouth motion I had been doing for 35 years as a smoker. Vaping nixed that concern and not once since I quit analogs have I missed them.

After 8 months as a vaper I am still using my KR808s and they do the job just fine that I need them to do:)

Good for you! I had a stepfather who was a very heavy drinker and he ended up with diabetes also. I'll be interested in hearing how you do. I'm curious as to whether vaping will raise your sugar levels or not, so if you could keep us posted on that, it would be great. Welcome to ECF!

To be honest, I don't monitor my levels, as I'm kind of in denial. It's been all sugar-free pop (soda) and the likes. I started wondering whether my innerds have been fooled into thinking the copious quantities of sweetener from the mass of liquid is actually sugar. (when I was monitoring, my sugar levels were no different when drinking normal or sugar-free drinks.)

I don't drink much alcohol, so at least that's not a worry to myself.

Thanks for the like - appreciated :)
I've started buying from healthcabin, which worked out much cheaper than the equivalent v2 supplier in the uk.
Delivery time is a little slow, but I'll probably be "chaining" my orders month by month. (which, with current excitement levels, is proving to be a little expensive :) )

My first order from them was ok - but unfortunately, I had a DOA battery, 2 DOA carts, and a leaky juice. (for my colleague in work) Other than that, the rest of the order was fine - but a good job I ordered a few batteries! I've put my second order in this weekend. (for a few more batteries, carts, and lots more flavours!)

Cheers!

Well if your going to have a habit then vaping is alot better than smoking that's for sure . Welcome to ECF :)

Thanks for the welcome. I used to smoke a bit, back when I was in college and uni, but kind of left it there.
(No way am I going back to that black tar stuff)

Well this is an unusual reason to start vaping and I really hope it helps you! Diabetes is a killer as you get older so you're smart to tackle it head-on now.

I've actually wondered if - like smoking - vaping could be useful in helping people lose weight. An overweight, non-smoking friend and I were pondering this the other day. I don't think she's going to start vaping though...

Welcome to ECF!

Thanks for the welcome. I did consider going down the chewing gum route (but it does nothing for the "touchy-feely" habit of picking up a cup of drink / bottle of pop.) I am very happy with the results so far.

(I'm admittedly overweight too, so maybe I can give you some feedback on what you were pondering too!)

Welcome to ECF!

I will say vaping has helped me lose weight. At night, I vape sweet stuff while laying in bed watching tv. I used to always snack while doing this but now I vape. The sweet stuff satisfies my sweet tooth without the calories . I have lost 8 pounds

Great to know! Looks like I have something else to look forward to... (I know what you mean, with the snacky feeling)

I'm looking for suggestions for flavours to vape - got any? (company specific would be good)

Also, anyone had any experience with "savoury" flavours? (ok, I'm a sucker and have added "bacon" to my most recent order from Healthcabin....)

My ego-t came from liberty-flights yesterday. Totally blows away the smaller kr808d-1.
The kr-808d-1 are still fine, but this is so much easier, as it's ther passthru version.
:)
I also bought a LOAD of flavours.... Belgian waffle being one of the nicest.
Anyone suggest any flavours in particular from them? (Flavourart, Perfumers Apprentice or Decadent Vapours)

Cheers,

- Chunkmeister (aka chunky15 or Chunky or just plain Chunks)
