:thumb::thumb:Hi there its ned here ned Zeppelin well that's my stage name anyway on this forum. Thats the musician in me but my real name is Mark also partner of Miss Diane . well in the last few weeks I have been in the wings backstage so to speak reading all your marvellous information and what a fantastic bunch of people you all are. I myself Saturday will have been on electronic cigarettes for a month and Diane three weeks today. And no we haven't had a real one. So far it's not been too hard because the electric cigarette has satisfied our needs it's costing me a fortune trying them all but what the hell I'm enjoying it too much and also helping keeping me off real Cigs. The only problem that I have had is I always smoked roll ups which I find stronger than normal packet cigarettes, when I smoked a normal cigarette i never felt like I'd had one at all - so going from roll ups to a electronic cigarette was probably little bit harder than going from normal cigarettes I could never hand roll with my fingers so I always used a rolling machine but to make that work good we use to dry the tobacco out not too much so then it would roll easier in the machine if we didn't do that it will always roll too tight and hard to drag on plus this made this stronger so you were always checking it all the time so it wouldn't dry out too much
so you can see going from hand roll to a e-cig has had to have some patients. I hope I have not bored you but I would like to thank you all very much.
kind regards
Mark

My smoke was Golden Virginia. I gave away my stash so there wouldn't be the temptation to smoke if there was none in the house but I still have a bit left in my tin. I've decided that it's ok to finish it, there's about enough for two or three cigs left. I don't feel too guilty though, I've only smoked four in two weeks thanks to the ecig.

Hi Kate I've got a full packet for just in case but as long as I have a good working electronic cigarette with good high-strength cartridge. I do not feel the need to go back the normal tobacco cartridge high-strength sometimes seems to me a little bit too weak but the Marlborough carts seemed to suit me better tip I bought some pipe liquid off pillbox Marlborough high-strength its good stuff

Welcome Mark,

A couple of years ago my husband and I rolled our own, or should I say I did the rolling with a machine and he smoked them LOL - I was trying to save money. You are right, they are much stronger than a normal cigarette but very cost effective.

Now look what I'm doing - back to spending money - but healthier. I guess you always have to compromise. LOL

Anyway, welcome and hope to see you posting.

Hi thank you for the welcome I really appreciated it
The funny thing is we never smoked roll ups like most people do to save us money and be more cost-effective .because by using the rolling machine it would always role cigarettes thicker than people who roll with their fingers especially when you start using a brand new rolling machine then after a few weeks they start tightening up. But you tend to have to put a little extra tobacco in the machine because using less tobacco always causes the machine to roll the cigarette to tight. So when the machines are new they always tend to use more tobacco than normal or if the machine is getting on a bit then starts to roll them to tight so machines tend to work best in mid age
But like said it wasn't because it was more cost-effective we felt smoking tobacco had a lot more flavour and certainly had a better hit and especially been stronger. But they do say if you do smoke roll ups it is far better for you than smoking normal cigarettes whether this is true I don't know don't quote me on this.
Cost-effective wise we personally would get through on an average of four packets of 50 g a week between the two of us at the cost of roughly £48 a week unless one of those little men we know who would kindly bring us some back from his holidays while travelling overseas. But Far as I am concerned you cannot beat hand roll cigarettes for flavour and strength. Oh those were great days.:thumb:

Even though I quit rolling these a few years ago - I still have my rolling machine - I hate to get rid of it because you never know.

Yes the flavour and strength were very good - however most of my friends looked at me like I was crazy to "roll my own".

Hi dnakr
We've still got our tin to plus a full packet of tobacco just in case and I always would recommend this. The secret is always role a load up before you go out that way people don't think you are an outcast because they don't tend to notice what you're smoking just smoking. I know it's a hassle rolling a load up but I have always done this
On holiday we always rolled up in the morning after breakfast before we go on the beach for the day and then roll more up before going out for the evening meal so in the morning there's normally a few to start the day. But like I said before it is a hassle but as you know it becomes part of your routine.
So now the hotel room is full of battery charges and hope the cleaning lady don't take a sip out of my E. liquid bottle that would be i interesting wouldn't it
. One thing. I can't wait to try is use a electronic cigar in Cuba as it is one of our favourite holiday destinations which we are planning on going sometime this year. Just imagine the Cuban man rolling his cigars for you to buy in the hotel lobby and I come along and say try this then. It's going to do his head in.

hello ned.. years ago i used to smoke "Park Drive" or "Woodbines".. one of those equates with a machine rolled golden virginia .....

i got thru 30 a day for years.. but it went wrong when i started to run a small taxi business for a living.. my park drive consumption rocketed to sixty a day..

i went to roll ups to cut my excessive consumption.. pre rolled defeated my purpose.. its hard to make and smoke roll ups while driving.. he he he

however i soon become skilled (just like the movie cowboys) at rolling one with one hand while holding the steering wheel and radio mike in the other.. clever use of ones knees helped with this.. he he

i did move to roll ups because of money.. but as u say the average modern filter tip is pretty weak.. my consumption recently was fifty a day skinny roll ups.. people often ask me if i have been in prison when thy see them.. he he he

i still smoke the odd roll up but (good) e smoking does feed my nicotine needs okay.. i would not go far without some rolling tobacco back up thow.. e smoking is okay when in the house surrounded by a dozen chargers and spare bits but out in the field it still leaves a lot to be desired..

I would love to see this. I bet everyone in the back held their breath as you rolled your cig.

That is why I have SEVERAL batteries that I take with me - at a minimum at least 5.

That would be interesting. If I remember correctly, and I believe it was TropicalBob saying something about the e-liquid or the nicotine for the e-liquid, comes from Cuba. So once he gets upset you can always say, it orginated from here - LOL.

If this is true I'll be bringing a bucketload back if I can find it. This would make such a change instead of bringing back a full case of cigars which believe me I have a few. So the next time the Cuban man comes up to me in the streets of Havana or while I'm lying on the beach the coastguard tries to flog me cigars mainly made out of banana leaves I will probably have too take him more seriously from now on. So if you see a white English Short guy searching for holes behind the beach is a good chance that it's probably me. Oh by the way this is where they hide them but please don't tell anyone else as they don't eurn much in the way of a salary.
thank you for the information as this could lead to something good if is true.

thanks ned.. and dnakr the secret with keeping the passenger happy was smooth driving.. another little story.. u could drive at any brealneck speed u liked as long as it was done "smoothly".. i used to work the nightclubs late night mostly.. most of my customers were drunk.. he he

one night i picked up some gypsies.. in my town these dudes were bad news and to be avoided if possible.. anyways i ended up with a bunch from the local kebab shop.. on the way to their very bumpy road caravan site they kept saying go faster and all the usual banter stuff..

when we got there and pulled up these guys had gone very quiet.. when they got out they all burst out laffing and seemed to think i was a good dude for some reason.. ..

on the roof exactly where the buggers had placed them were four opened coke cans still there and unspilt.. their attempt at taking the piss had failed.. the idea was to see these cans go cascading over my roof and bounce of the car boot.. this would have produced roars of laughter at my expense.

the fact i had driven them all the way home and the cans had not moved enhanced my reputation amongst em.. i heard the story repeated often after that.. he he
