Haven't been on here in a few months due to being on board my Sydney yacht. Now in Brisbane at my brother's place and have the leisure - and the internet connection - to update on my vaping experiences.

Gave up smoking on 6th October and to date have had ONE cigarette, a few days after my birthday in February with a celebratory beer. It tasted good, but the next day my mouth and throat tasted like crap and I've had no urge to repeat the experience.

A few times I've been short of e-juice or ran out of cartos and I just pushed through it. I still have a mountain of unopened Snus, and rarely think of using them now.

Seven months, wow. I didn't think it would be possible.

Total vaping costs for the period: $1140.63 which means I'm about five grand ahead. Combine that with my life afloat (no rent) and living is pretty cheap nowadays. I'm totally retired and the bank account hasn't fluctuated in months, with an income of $500 a week. I've achieved my goal of never having to work again, despite the rather heavy costs of owning and restoring two cruising yachts.

Life's good. Hope you guys can also achieve your goals.

One year today! Wow, life's great now. :toast:

I got a big grin on my face from reading the comments above. Pictures of the yachts have been posted elsewhere I think. But here's a pic of the one I'm on at the moment, in Brisbane. I'm heading back to Sydney in about 9 days to work on the other one.

No, I'm not married. You Southern gals sure are forthright. ;)

Busted my excellent run early this year. I crewed on a yacht to New Zealand and the darned cartos I took with me were so leaky I lost about 50ml of liquid on the trip. Got to NZ with nothing to vape and no place to buy supplies. I went back to smoking for about 3 weeks but the cost of cigarettes was so high there I'm glad to be back in Australia and vaping again.

So, 15 out of the last 16 months cigarette-free. Still not too bad I suppose.
