Welcome to ECF- take a look around, read some of the sticky posts and posts in this forum. Many new people that come here have the same questions and most find good answers by just reading through them. PV's are not ciggerettes therefore there is not any smoke (nothing to light on fire) they also do not contain any tar and the cancer causing additives as well as the 4k plus of other chemicals and various nasty junk. It is really dependant on your own expectations if it is going to feel like a real cigg. Someone will come along here soon to recommend a good starter kit for you. I started on an EGO tank model and it got the ball rolling for me. I have since changed models but still use the EGO T.

Good luck on your journey..!!

hi, welcome

i have been vaping 1 month or so, maybe abit longer

from your ecig, its all about what battery life, style, ease of obtaining accessories
depends on what your needs are

i have a 650mah variable voltage(3.3v, 3.7v,4.2v) ego c, it has an incooperated 510 thread (the most common) so most cartos/tanks do have a 510 version. the atomizer system it came with was poor, i had to buy cartomizers after just one week.
using my current single coil tank the battery life lasts over a day. thats great. however on dual coil cartomizers it lasts a morning. i am a heavy vaper

if i was to buy again i would buy the passthrough ego, it operates at 3.7v without vv. since its even more versatile, i like its mini usb charger design and now that i have seen the effects of variable voltage, i think the 3.7v setting is perfectly fine. however when i started it was important for me to know what effect voltage may have. the low setting was very usefull early on, i used it alot

You will get all kinds of advice here on what to buy. Some good, some self serving.
I can tell you what I've gone through.

I started with an e-cig from V2 cigs. small cartomizers, refillable, small capacity batteries. That was in the middle of last November. My wife uses them everyday still, and the equipment is still going strong.I am still in fact refilling the cartomizers that came with the original kit. to me that's mileage.
I graduated after that to a T-Rex.I loved that because I could screw more stuff on to the end of it and that changes the flavor of a juice as well as how long you can go before you need a re-charge.
I have purchased and used a few "e-go" knockoffs. I have not been real happy with any of them. when you get a cheap knockoff from an unreliable source, well, you only get what you pay for. The button sticks on two of them, one broke right at the joint between the battery and the button housing and one just plain quit working.

TIP, buy the best unit you can afford, from a forum recomended supplier and you will be more satisfied. at least if you have an issue with it you are more prone to get better customer service. If you are thinking about a particular brand or style see if there is a dedicated thread here. I know there is an EGO thread, there is probably an 808 thread.I know you have no idea what that means, I want you to go look.

I have also tried a lava tube type unit for a short period. I had to send that back for a trade and will receive a new one with safer batteries. The jury is still out on weather variable voltage is worth all the hype, but from what I could tell, it probably is.
as far as "does it taste like a cigarette", well, no.
nothing tastes like the burning tobacco of a cigarette except for a cigarette. If it is of any value to you, I have hit a few that satisfy me, and I have forgotten what a burning cigarette tastes like and I don't really have a desire to know.
I kind of look at it like a girl i used to date and is now all hagged out on pills and alcohol. I cant believe I ever went THERE.
But I did for 35 years.
If it helps you, not knowing what you smoked, I smoked USA red 100s cigaretts. They are very harsh.

I have found soilce here;

My Freedom smokes- Pall Mall, Lucky Strike, US light, US red.
Dekang Gold and Silver.
Dekang Turkish.
Dekang Virginia
EC blends 7 leaf tobacco blend.

when trying juice, unless you have someone you can give it away to, buy the small 10 ml bottle on the first taste.
that way if you don't like it you are not out much.
one other thing. I kept my cigs for a week or so when I started. Just couldn't let go right away. Remember , it is an addiction. when I could fight off a cigarette craving with a few drags on the e-cig, I knew I could let go.
I smoked the last one and said goodbye to fifteen bucks a day out the door.

I hope that helps. your'e about to read a hundred replies, so settle in.
Good luck to you.

Just curious.

That would be the next step e-cigs

Thank you

when I get the VV back with the pproper batteries , I'll mess with that.
personally I think an 18650 battery with a mod it was intended to be used in, properly engineered with some safety and not mistreated wil always be my go-to.

Thank you.

18650 batteries laying around, heavy smoker- Will look into sales on this forum.

Had a guy like that in Florida a few weeks back.
be careful with that.
Rolygate, did I spell that right? has a very informattive sticky on battery do's and dont's that all should read.
especially if you have some batteries laying around and intend to use them.
I dont want to twist this into a battery safety thread though.
Just stay safe.

I am new to e-cigs, but my field is electronics/batteries/chargers.

Hope we will share our knowledge/experience in the future.

Will be more than happy to help this forum with right info on batteries.

I can see there is a lot of confusion, and sometimes not that good info when different batteries are discussed.
