Hello names Ty,

I have been vaping for 6 months and I just upgraded to a Panzer Black Hawk mod with a Tobh Atty. I bought an AW IMR 18650 3.7V 2000 mAh Battery. I was interested in ordering another. I sub ohm vape most of the time nothing lower than a 0.5 cause I think any lower lower than that and it would be dangerous from what I've read. So question is what is the best brand and type of battery I can order? Thanks.

Welcome.

You may want to check the amps on the AW IMRs. As I recall the 1600 mAh will give you more Amps for sub ohm.

AW IMR are very good batteries but you need something with higher amps for sub ohms.

VTC5 is good but you won't find them in stock.

Orbtronic SX30 are good at ortronic.com.

Some say the purple Efest are good and others like some of the Mnke.

Whatever you get, get them from a trusted seller, not eBay or Amazon.

I personally purchased four vtc4s which I use on a daily basis. I bought them on a recommendation and haven't been happier. They hold up really well and I like the length of time they last. Also I have to say that I have experimented with IMR and found those to be outstanding batteries as well. I try to stick with the 18650 range as I have all the equipment necessary to use them.

Hi and welcome!!!

If you are not planning on going any lower that .5ohm which is 8.4amps than many batteries would work and i would say get the highest mah rated batt you can.
Lg he2 2500mah/20 amps
sony vtc5 2600mah/30amps ( there factory opened back up so we should see them soon and at a reasonable price again)
Efest 2500mah/35 amp ( there acually 20 amp also)
Efest 3100mah/ i believe 20 ( they last a couple hrs longer than my vtc5/efest 2500 but only on builds above .5)
Might as well get more vape time if you dont need crazy amps.

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Welcome Ty,
I am new to the forum as well and was in the same boat. I wanted the vtc5s but they are impossible to find right now. I went to a brick and mortar store yesterday here locally and they had the vtc4s. I promptly purchased 4 as they are for my new Segelei 100w and they take 2 and I got 2 for spares. I have been using the vtc4s all morning and I am at 96% still, they look like they are going to last all day unlike my pair of vtc3s and they seem to hit hotter than the 3s. You will get allot of good info here.

I checked some of the day yesterday and came up empty handed with the vtc4s trying the recommended sources online, 4 of which were listed earlier in this thread. On a fluke I got some info from a B&M that I frequent he told me of another B&M that had real vtc4s. I talked with guys there 2 of the 3 were using them and the other preferred the efest 2100 mah. Anyway here is the link voltagevapin.com, I don't know 100% if they are real I don't know if anyone can but I can tell you that I am using them and they are in stock.

Again thanks for all the great input, Until authentic Sony batteries show up I found something similar to what I'm using here is what I have: AW IMR 18650 3.7V 2000mAh here is what I was going to order: AW IMR 18650 3.7V 2200mAh w/ 20a so from what I gather a bit better in the capacity and something mine doesn't have 20a printed on the battery. So wouldn't it be better for my sub ohm builds?
