Well some throat irritation in the beginning is normal. If you are taking many drags consecutively, that could irritate your throat more if the vapor is heating up significantly. However, it shouldn't "remain" painful.

I would make sure you drink a lot of water, it's possible your nic is too high, that you are trying to vape more "vapor" than your body wishes to (I wasn't able to sub0hm at all in the beginning and I'm still not fond of it. I started out at 12 m.g. though, but even lowering it was just too much for me. I also had a PG sensitivity which can cause sore throat and etc. I'd say it's probably too soon to tell. Lower your nic more if needed, maybe look at slightly lower wattage and hence less vapor "production" and see how that goes.

I'd give it some time though before you assume you have a PG sensitivity, but if that is the case, (later, after you try some other things) you could look at whether less PG in your juice helps.

But, some sore throat and etc. is also not entirely unheard of, at all, as you are transitioning. Keeping hydrated (and time) should help those matters. Etc.

Anna

Welcome and glad you joined.
Lowering the nicotine level is a good recommendation.
I found that the two main causes of throat irritation are the Nicotine (amount and brand/type) and too much PG in the mix ratio. You might like to try obtaining a small bottle of pharmacy grade VG (Vegetable Glycerin) and just vape that without any nicotine. You should not feel any throat irritation, then you could mix the VG into the liquid that causing the trouble. Some flavors can cause throat irritation but this is more rare. Could purchase another brand and flavor e-liquid with the same nic rating (or less nic/with more VG), this may indicate that the nic or flavor is causing the trouble (or PG is the problem). I think you get the idea.
With regards to wattage, might like to read:

Resistance is futile. Ohms are not king. Wattage is. • r/electronic_cigarette

With your setup, i'd also be going through 8-10ml per day. On my squonker with RDA (currently .59 @ 70watts) i'll go through about 8-9ml per day of 6mg liquid.

So, you're fine, lol. For a new guy you are already well on your way as a DIY juice maker, welcome to the board!
Thanks!

Yes I can do that. On the moment I have pharmaceutical VG I will separate about 20ml of e-liquid that I have now and add 2ml of the VG to see if go better. Thanks for the advice!!
