I'm a new member here so hello to everyone :)

I've been vaping for 5 years now but finally, I came across ''advanced'' kits. I'm lost and I feel like a total beginner again so I'm here in hope that there'll be a good soul to help me.

I don't know if it is appropriate to put my question in this thread, but please forgive me as I'm a new member :D

I just bought eleaf iKonn 220 and got with it eleaf HW3 head (0.2 ohms). I tried to find some information/instructions on Google/Youtube, but I'm far away from ''vapor cloud''. I can't even inhale it properly because it's too hot. After all, it produces less vape than normal, vape is too hot, it makes me cough and now I wonder can somebody give me some links where I can inform myself or give me basic instruction about start settings with this kit. I put vw mode, 70 w and it still doesn't feel right.

Anyway, have a great day all! :)

Did you prime the coil properly?
Have you used sub-ohm coils before?
What are the suggested wattage settings for that particular coil? Usually found in tiny letters on the coil itself, or can be found on the manufacturer's website.

Usually when the vape is "too hot", the wattage setting is set too high or the coil/wick is not adequately receiving e-liquid. If you are not accustomed to sub-ohm tanks, they can appear to be too hot compared to higher ohm tanks.

Thank you :)

Yes, I drip a few drops of e-liquid directly into atomizer head before 1st use.
Nope, I didn't use sub-ohm coils before, this is my first time. :/ Suggested wattage for that coil on the manual is 70-90 W (even though on the coil itself it's written 50-130 W). I tried with 50 W, it's not hot anymore but it produces less vape than, for example, Joyetech ego AIO with 1 ohm coil. I just wonder if it's ''normal'' and is it even possible to reach that ''vapor cloud'' seen on Youtube videos with this kit :)

Hi and welcome,
What device(s) had you been using previously?
Did you buy the Ikonn at a shop or online?

What is the PG/VG ratio of the juice you are using?
What is the nicotine level of the juice you are using?

Cheers

Do you have an air-flow regulator on the device? I know sometimes when I have a hot hit the airflow has closed up and all I am getting is a direct flow from the coil which can be too hot.

Just a thought - maybe too obvious. If so, sorry.

Thank you, all suggestions are welcome. Yes, I tried it, but it didn't solve the problem.
I took atomizer head and dry it a little bit with paper. 1st hit after it was somehow ok (not too hot, decent amount of vape), but then it again caused me a cough because of warm vape...

Hi :) I used Joyetech ego AIO.
I bought this kit at a shop in my city, I'll check it's security code.
I'm using Pinky vape, 60% VG/40% PG; nicotine content 12 mg/ml.

And after all of this, I think that you solved my problem. "Suck harder and more forcefully", I can't believe it :whatanidiotiam:
Thank you so much! :)))))))))

Big toothy grin emoji!

12mg/ml is going to provide a STRONG throat hit and a very large dose of nicotine.
If possible, order the same pinky vape flavour in 0.0% nicotine.
If you mix it at 1:1, you will have 6mg/ml juice.
If you mix it at 2:1 (10ml of 0mg to 5ml of 12mg) you will have 4mg/ml.

Welcome to ECF!

Cheers

Yeap, today I relearned how to vape thanks to you :D
And you're right, it's a very large dose of nicotine now when sub ohm vaping, so I already switch it to 6 mg/ml juice and I'll mix this one that contains 12 mg/ml as you suggested. Thank you once again. Cheers

Welcome to ECF, abortumas. Good on ya for the 5 years, I'm a month over 4 years myself. I'm not familiar with the device you have now, so I'm afraid I won't be able to help much, but the suggestions given are appropriate though and you have definitely come to a great place for advice.

    One more question. :D

When I was at that local store, I asked batteries for that kit. A man working there seemed like he knows what he's doing (what doesn't give me an excuse) and he recommended LG batteries (lgabhg21865). Later, while reading the user manual of iKonn I saw that batteries that should be used with this device should be 18650 batteries whose continuous discharge current should be above 25A (this one is 20A as Google says?). Does somebody know are these batteries right for it?

    If I'm thinking right:
    4.2 V(bat. volt.)/ 0.2 ohms (coil. resist.) = 21 A.
Or should I think of wattage and U^2/R...
Or I'm thinking about it in a totally wrong direction.

Don't worry, I'm not thinking about building a coil, reusing batteries etc., or anything I don't understand. I'm asking this because of safety reasons. :)

Since you are using a regulated (electronic) mod, coil resistance and Ohm's Law are irrelevant. Watt's Law applies and the wattage setting you use are relevant when using a regulated mod.

So what wattage setting do you use, and how many batteries does your regulated mod use?

-If you use a good quality 15 amp CDR battery like the Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC6, then you are good up to 45 watts per battery; 90 watts using two; 135 watts for three batteries.

-If you use a good quality 20 amp CDR battery like the LG HG2 or Samsung 25R then you are good for 60 watts per battery. If using a 2-battery regulated mod, you're good for 120 watts as you have two batteries. If you are using a 3-battery mod, you're good for 180.

-If you use a single 25 amp CDR battery like the Sony VTC5A, then you are good for 75 watts per battery, 150 watts for two batteries, and 225 watts with three.

-If you use a single 30 amp CDR battery like the LG HB6 you are good up to 90 watts; with a pair of 30 amp CDR batteries you could safely do 180 watts.

Thank you so much for your post and time.

In my case, I can put any wattage that is less than 120 watts and it's safe (because there are so many sources that say that with reg. mod you also have to be cautious, although I always (laic) thought that the problem (i.e. possible explosion) is only with mech. mod).
What should I keep in mind when buying a new atomizer when it comes to resistance?

Just out of curiosity, is it then even possible to reach 220 W with 2 batteries or it is just some marketing thing when we talk about this kit - Eleaf iKonn 220?

EDIT: I've just seen that you also post the video, I'll watch it now, I suppose there are some of the answers to questions above, sry.
