I can get a chalice right this second but first I need someone to explain why I need one? My three rm2s are fantastic so I'm wondering why would I want to spend 175$ on a chalice. It's more then I spent on any REO.

You don't need the Chalice. I have 10 RM2's and just can't imagine a Chalice would be that much better.

But if you want to sport something that is a status symbol of sorts because of the price then grab one.

I do realize the Chalice is Stainless Steel, well machined, and all fancy with it's cursive name and stuff.

Worth the money? Not to me.

Karen pretty much hit it on the head :)

It is not a "need" item. Nobody needs one but if you can get one of the second runs (and order the new screws) or third runs with the new screws (not a first run with brass posts and feed tube) one of three things is likely to occur:

1. you will see and believe that there is a reason that people pay what they do for them and that entire runs sell out in minutes and god himself will have to pry it from your hand when you die.

2. You will struggle with building it, notice that the vape is no better than what you get from an RM2, regret the purchase because it's "just an overpriced, albeit fanatically machined hunk of thick SS, titanium and silver plate" and get rid it as quick as you can even if it means taking a loss.

3. You will struggle with building it or not even use it and attempt to (and probably succeed) sell it for more than you paid for it.

It really is a no risk investment but over the last year, of the 10 or so REOnauts who reached out to me about them prior to purchasing them and were also very enthusiastic / excited about getting one, most didn't like them, and ultimately sold them.

A guy won one that a fine REOnaut donated as a prize in a contest and he ended up never even building it if I recall correctly.

Judging from experience, It's one of those things that you either "get", procure and rock on or have questions, procure and regret.

I sold two over the last year - one 1st Run and one second run (both to the same guy on the classies) My third one spent allot of time sitting in a drawer until the new run and screws came out so I even ordered another chalice and use them on my most special woods :)

I love my Chalice IIs, but totally agree they are not for everyone. They give me a slightly better vape than the rest. but it's not 4 times better than an RM2. Part of the ownership for me is the fine craftsmanship.

The RM2 is were anybody should start, Great value, easy to build and a vape that's hard to beat, plated brass.
The Igo-S from Rob is the best bang for the buck, all SS, with a very good vape.
The Divo by VA cost more than the RM2 has a slightly smaller chamber, all SS great vape. out of stock everywhere.
The Cyclone by VA cost a bit more than the Divo also all SS and a very good vape.
The Cyclone plus AFC cap makes a great dual coil setup.

Chalice is only BF, Divo and Cyclone sold in both BF and TF version, RM2 and Igo-s modified by Rob to be BF.

Mountain Oak Vapor Cyclone BF: The Cyclone RBA by Vicious Ant
coupon code SYNDROME15 gets you 15% off. The total was $57.90 shipped

Cyclone on the way. That was a kind tip from you. Coupon code worked a treat and their shipping is silly reasonable.

Now, I just need a REO to go with it. Does the cyclone need an lp REO?

The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
a REO and chalice it is.... i'll wait a few more minutes to see if some one else chimes in...thanks...if you guys ever want go over to the other side (tubes) i love copper .....
I just sold my Chalice and got 2 rm2's and have money left over. It's a great atty and very well made but not worth it IMO. Not when you can have several rm2s for the same price. Besides unless you can find a used one your out of luck unless you want to blow $500  you might as well go outside and burn the cash :)

The regular cyclone does not need a LP REO, however if you were to get the AFC cap then you would. IMO if you are just going to be using RBA's (not carts) on the REO just get it in LP, so many more possibilities.

Thanks for that. Now to decide which of the three LPs still in stock to get.

Do these REO things accept flat top batteries?

Edit: there is only one lp grand in stock. Don't want a mini. Why is trying to be like SuperX so hard?

LOL :) it would be hard for anyone with sense enough to have a REO to be as dorky as I am :)

If it's any consolation, all my REOs are standard (not LP) but that's only because I bought em before the LP option existed.

If I were buying one today I'd get a LP SL. I am contemplating selling my black wrinkle once I put the SO kit in it so I can pick up a LP SL. Not certain yet though. I really love my black wrinkle. And I really don't need to add another mod to my little collection :)

I hear that flat tops work but all I've ever run are AW IMRs from RTD vapor :)

So, there is one lp grand, a few lp minis for sale. What are you trying to tell me? Lp, I get. What is sl? Stretchy Leotard? Are you trying to tell me you would buy something that cannot be bought at this time?

I am having a hard time with this. The only lp grand has a finish called tumble. Tumble is a setting on my clothes dryer that I use for my wrinkle-free, permanent-press polyester three-piece suits.

No mini. You want a grand. The SL is a brand new style grand where Rob puts all these slick cutouts in the door and body making it lighter, see thru and IMO cool looking. There's a thread in here about them too. But maybe not for everyone. They can let in more dirt and the like.

As far as I know they're available. If you dont see what you want, you can PM redeyedancer (that's Rob E O'neil - the maker) and he can most likely accommodate.

Tumbled is like a raw aluminum that he tumbles in a machine to make it smooth / deburr.

If there is a color or option that you want just give Rob a PM or call or email and he is very accommodating, It may take a week for Rob to get you what you need. I just placed and order the other day and was chatting with him he hooked me up with a REO Grand-SO-SL-LP even though they arn't technically on his site.

The new SO (sub-ohm) kits will accept flattops just fine. If i'm not mistaken all of the mods available have the upgraded firing pin (which work with flat tops) but are just waiting for the upgraded springs to come in.
