Hi all
just join today me and wife has been smoking from age 15 we are 53 now, I'm so ready to quit but the wife is not sure she is. I just order a k-go with extras and placed an order with ejuicemonkeys today and if everything goes good for me I think my wife will follow.

Smoking is killing me and we have 13 grand kids that we would love to see grow up to be adults and if thats not reason to quit then just shoot me now. So please give me tips and pointers to help me though the hard times I will have.

Thanks Rick

a lot of people are suprised by how easy it is to make the switch, everytime you feel the need to smoke vape untill the urge goes away and before you know it you wont have the urge to smoke any more even if that doesn't work for you and you just cut down at first it's still a win, good luck you can do it we're rooting for you

When I first started vaping (was still smoking analogs) I coughed my .... off and thought, "my God how on Earth does anyone enjoy this, let alone quit smoking for this?" Don't be surprised if you or your wife experience this as well. Some do, some don't. Things improved firstly when I stopped using prefilled cartos, and then all together when I actually quit analogs completely.

I believe it has something to do with the cilia (fine hairs) in our lungs being damaged (matted down with tar) from smoking. The good news is that those cilia grow back rather quickly, and I am now vaping like a champ to prove it!

My point here is....don't get discouraged too quickly. There is a learning curve with vaping, but it is so worth it to stick it out and make it work! Your Grandkids will love you all the more for it. Good Luck, and stay close to this forum. We want to see you make it!

I've tried everything to quit with no success....Until I recieved my first POS v2 ecig on April 1, 2011. Stinky free since then. I've gone through a learning curve. But all in all, it was really easy this time. Vaping a Buzz pro at 4.3 V with a Boge 2.0 at the moment.

edit: 30+ years at 2 PAD. If I can do it you can do it. I was sure I'd never be able to quit and I'd die from it. Vaping is the "easy button"

Best of luck. I started vaping four months ago and overall am very happy I made the switch from my 2 PAD habit. If you feel you are ready go for it, hopefully your wife will see your success and get into it too, but trying to "make" someone quit smoking is setting them up for failure. If you don't REALLY want to quit, even the "easy button" (I like that one!) vaping provides won't make it happen. I'm still trying to get my best bud (who has COPD and other smoking related crap) to try it but she keeps putting it off. I think, like many of us, she is afraid it WON'T work and she will be a failure again.

Also, like anything else there is a learning curve. Don't get frustrated as you go through the equipment issues (ie. What's wrong with this thing?!) tastebud changes and days where you just can't hit the vaping happy place no matter how hard you try. Just pick it back up the next day and before you know it you'll have done it!

good luck! i'll never go back to cigarettes and i never even intended on quitting smoking to begin with! i just prefer vaping now!

Sounds like me, I just planned to cut back quite a bit on smoking. A lot of the flavors got me hooked on vaping for good after smoking for 22 years about 1 PAD. Today made 6 weeks without smoking a Marb, week 2 was a little rough but after lighting up a Marb and smelling it I put it out, ended up doing that twice during week2. Week 3 and I didn't even get one lit before throwing it out.

To the original poster:

You have a lot more reasons to quit smoking and start vaping than I did. You can trust most of the info you read here, like don't go looking for something that tastes exactly like the cigs you smoked, I like vaping english toffee, apple cinnamon, and menthol and I couldn't stand menthol cigs. I doubt anyone can predict what flavors you will like and the worst part is that you could go broke if you want to try them all

I smoked for 45 years & I started vaping a little over a month ago. At first I still smoked a couple of days along with vaping. When I finished the pack I had, I said I'd try a day without any analogs. I made it thru that day & I said that I'd try another. It's been since Sept 5th since I smoked. Sept 4th was less than a half of an analog.

I'm really wish you the best of luck & your wife, too. Take one day at time, I'm sure you succeed. Also, if you smoke a few, don't beat yourself up. Advise I picked up here is: don't worry about being perfect at first, just try to be good.

Congrats on Vaping For LIFE( and seeing them little ones grow up). I smoked for 20yrs and ended up a 2 1/2 PAD habbit. I tried everything from patches ,gum,Albutrin, Hypnosis.. nothing cut it for me. I enjoyed all facets of smoking. Almost 10 months later not a single Analog.. You need to research , Plan and find what works for you... You Can Do It!!!!!!

Hey Rick from AR. Hubby and I are huge Razorback fans. Woo Pig Sooey! :)

What great motivation to switch to vaping. That's a lot of grandkids. Good for you.

Have you used an ecig before, like a disposable or anything? You got a powerful "Fat Battery" model that operates like a big mod. That's fabulous. It can be strange handling juice and filling cartomizers for the first time. You'll get the hang of it real quick. Holler if you need anything. There's lots of friendly, helpful people around here. Hope your gear arrives quickly and we get to read of your vaping adventures.

Here are a couple of videos on filling cartomizers. The guys do it differently. Both methods work. On the 2nd video you can fast-forward to the last 3 minutes for the cartomizer tips. He's using your KGO in the 2nd video.

That's some great motivation. You'll be fine. Don't run out of juice, atomizers, and charged batteries. I wish you success, Rickster.

Glad you are making the switch. When I started it was a regular 510 and that only drastically reduced the smoking. Enough to show me this would work! Vaping started ruining smoking pretty fast. Then I upgraded to the Ego and that was the end of smoking, lol! I smoked for 30 years and was suprised at how easy it was to let go of the cigarettes! I have since found juice I love and a couple of mods, but I still vape the Ego daily (I change devices according to juice). Good luck and ask questions as needed. I found all the help I needed right here on the forum through reading and people answering my questions!
