smoked 35+ years ... when I started vaping I was smoking 2+ PAD. I have never tried to quit. I like smoking. but the $$ was getting to be too much for my pocketbook. so I wanted to cut back to 1 PAD. I am now down to 2 cigs a day, and I will likely stay there. I passed my goal :) I'm old so I feel if I want to smoke 2 cigs a day I can. what I did was to vape whenever I wanted a cig and then if I still wanted the cig I had it with no guilt! for the difficult to give up 1st cig of the day, I vaped for 10 min, then had the cig...then vaped 30 mins, then had cig, soon it was 6 in the evening before I had my first cig. your wife should play around with them and she may find herself accidently quitting like I did <g> and yes, even though I still smoke 2 cigs a day I consider myself a quitter.
oh and btw, I did go a little crazy buying stuff the first 4 months or so, but even then it was still less than I would have spent on cigs and the past 3 months or so I haven't spend much money at all. one must control the shopoholic tendencies that vaping brings out

Twenty years at about a PAD. Started vaping about a month ago. Fell off the wagon for about a week and smoked two packs of marlboros. Then 2 analogs a day for about a week and only a few drags yesterday. Set my counter and am going strong. The combination of vaping, and getting engrossed in all the info on this forum was me feeling very confident.
Good luck and welcome!

Greetings Rick

I smoked for 40+ years. I got my Ego in the mail on a Wed afternoon in May and I haven't had a smoke since. I threw the carton under the sink in my hurricane kit but I haven't even been tempted...well, not much any way...LOL

For me, it was as simple as finding the right flavor. Good luck! You can do it.

Hiya,
First off, ordering was the first step. It doesn't ever get easier not smoking, but the e cig has dramatically reduced my urge to smoke 1 - 1 1/2 p/day. I've been vaping now 2 months and went from vaping and 6 cigs/day to now 3/day. I've noticed people say just give up the 3, but they have never smoked... it's not easy quitting. It's probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I just stay super busy, painted my entire house inside lol, iron clothes, stay active work all day and don't stop to think about smoking even though I still do. If you can quit totally, hats off to you... but even if you can cut back to 3 day, you have succeeded no matter what anyone tells you...... I feel great, and I'm so proud of myself.. the more I do this or longer i do this, the more proud I am of what I have done. It's like the 12 step program, just take it day by day and keep your head up and lots of encouragement from people really does help. I really hope the best for you.. YOU CAN DO IT :)@!!!!

Hi, and welcome to the ECF Rickster! You're going to love vaping - just keep trying stuff until you find your vaping bliss! I tried to convert my Hubby to vaping, but it just didn't satisfy him. We're all different, and maybe your wife will love it after she sees how much fun you're having? :D

The best advice I can give you is make sure you drink lots and lots of water while you're vaping. Vaping dries you out very quickly and staying well hydrated will prevent your throat from feeling like a desert. Good luck, and if you need help come back and ask!
