You can add more pg to thin it. You can also add a small amount of distilled water, no more than 10 per cent of your total volume.
Make the coil cartridges last longer? Hard one. The thing that goes first with cartridges isn’t the coil it’s the wicking wrapped around the coil. It either burns up or fills up. A thinner juice could theoretically make it wick faster so you could run the coil hotter without burning the wick as much. It can sometimes help if the wick isn’t very porous which makes the wick dry out and burn up too fast. The standard solution for that one is to poke pin holes in the wick. If the cartridge isn’t having porosity problems to start with though it Shouldn’t make a ton of difference.
Temperature Control could help by keeping the max temperature of the coil low, but it only works with TC compatible wire and a TC mod. I’m not sure if the TX2 coils are even TC compatible to begin with (most coil cartridges aren’t) so having a TC compatible mod might not even help to begin with.

What takes a toll on coils isn't the amount of VG, unless the coils are designed to only wick low VG/high PG juice, as may occur in pods and some low wattage tight draw mtl coils. I don't know that coils to tell you if it falls into that category, so more info like what's the resistance might help.
What usually gunks up coils are the flavorings. Heavily flavored and sweetened juices will muck up a coil quickly. Thinning it with PG or distilled water won't make a big difference unless you use a lot to reduce the flavoring concentration. Of course if you do that, you'll both decrease flavor and the nicotine concentration which may then be not satisfying.

either of these will still not last forever though. Cartridges still burn or gunk eventually even if you vape flavorless pure PG
Premade coil units are made for convenience and maximum profit, not to last or deliver an optimal vape.

Not sure if I agree or disagree here. It may be a matter of outlook.
The vape quality of at least some cartridges seems to have improved markedly over the last few years and part of convenience is less frequent need for replacement. RBA devices do seem to need somewhat more and more complicated maintenance than cartridge systems generally. Not a great deal, and it varies a lot, but it’s there. The gigantic price difference in maintenance cost though means an RBA can be made to have a consistently higher wick quality than a cartridge system while still experiencing major savings.

Drop in coils last a week to 2 weeks tops. Thats just how it is. And as everyone said, its the wicking that goes bad first. Minor tweaks like juice viscosty adjustments, poking holes in the wicking, etc. may or may not extend the life of the coil head. The mesh coils now available seem to last a bit beyond two weeks but not by much. But really, the disposable coil heads are just that, disposable.

I found that I got more time out of the mesh coils.. it's still only a matter of weeks but I know there are some people that literally only get 3 to 5 days and that's ridiculously low unless you're vaping high watts. I never used that exact tank with those coils so so I'm not sure about the quality of those coils I just feel in general mesh lasts a bit longer
