Disclaimer: I've vaped nothing but tobacco juices for the past couple of months - I never did find a vanilla vape that I enjoyed, even though I am a huge fan of vanilla. But, since my first round of tobacco flavors from Highbrow was so impressive, I had to give this one a try.

Highbrow Vanilla Bourbon

I opted for VG-only, but this is also available in PG-only, or an 80/20 PG/VG mix. My chosen nic strength for this one was 18mg.

Flavor:

Hand-down the best vanilla flavor I've ever had, and I've tried at least a dozen. Nothing artificial here. Tastes like Breyer's vanilla ice cream with the vanilla bean specs. And, according to the description on the website, this juice is steeped with real vanilla bean, so it's no mystery why the flavor is so spot-on. I did not opt for any customizations for this flavor, nor would I in the future, I find it perfect as-is.

Not overly-sweet, no chemical taste - keep this in a safe place where you won't get drunk and pour it on your ice cream one night.

Throat Hit

Extremely satisfying. Now, I pretty much only vape VG, so maybe my impression of TH is different from others, but I found this every bit as satisfying as some of my 24mg PG-mix tobacco flavors. I ordered 18mg, even though I am down to 10/12mg for the most part, figuring that vanilla was tame enough that it might need some extra nic-kick. But, it packs a punch, so next time I will go for the 12mg with no worries.

Mixability

Have some other flavors that you've become bored with? Add a few drops of this! I added some to the Highbrow Exotic, and produced some of the best vanilla/tobacco juice I've ever had.

Overall

Highbrow does it again. Their artisanal approach to juice-making really shines in this flavor. Now, I may for the first time since I first started vaping, be tempted to sample some of their dessert and drink flavors. Highbrow is dramatically raising the bar on what I've come to expect out of a vaping experience.

Cool, I hope you try them out and that you find some flavors you enjoy!

As I mentioned in my review of their Exotic and RY4, taste is so subjective, that I am very hesitant to review any juices, whether I enjoy them or not. I've read great reviews of some flavors that ended up tasting like Playdoh to me, so you never know! But, I think that Highbrow is joining the ranks of that handful of outstanding vendors whose products are of a high enough standard that they will appeal to vapers with a broad range of taste preferences.

A couple of days later, the flavor, or my perception of it, has evolved a bit - I almost get a bit of a vanilla custard, like what would be in a doughnut or Boston Cream Pie...it's lovely.

:D jplanet, I know you think my steeping habits/requirements are crazy (and they certainly make ME crazy sometimes :)), but I swear to you that freshly-crafted juices really do deepen and improve with at least some steeping!

Try to hide that bottle from yourself for another 2 weeks, and then come back and tell us what you think! ;)

Absolutely!

Another thing occurred to me just now. I have avoided dessert flavors, and one of the main reasons is that with just about every other dessert flavor I've tried, once the atty starts to dry just a little bit, they would take on a burnt taste that wasn't appealing at all.

The Highbrow Vanilla maintains good flavor even when it's time to drip again - I never have to worry about dripping too soon to avoid that burnt flavor - it never happens.

I am not sure what was the matter with mine. I ordered a 30ml bottle of the Vanilla Bourbon after reading reviews...and it had the potential, it seemed, to be very good, but there was this plastic taste I kept getting. Almost like melted plastic. I thought it was me, so my husband tried it as well and he could taste it also. It wasn't any of our equipment. It's the same we use for everything. Ego 950mah battery and smoketech 1.7 cartomizers. I let it sit awhile. Tried it again and it was still there. I was thinking maybe it could be the bottle????? I ended up throwing it away. I don't think it was the liquid, I think something happened once it hit the plastic bottle.

Fish it out of the garbage and contact Bryan! I'm vaping a 30ml bottle of Vanilla Bourbon as well, nothing remotely plasticky here, so something must be amiss!
