I am having trouble with wicking while taking a draw, which I like to take 6+ second draws. Whether it is higher pg, or higher vg. Obviously problem is worse with vg. I guess the center of the coil is getting hot and burning.there.

I'm talking 40~50 watts here. Maybe I'm asking too much from a single coil here.

Build usually is 24ga, 6/7 wrap Id 1/8 (I think). ~.5 ohm. I like my organic cotton.

I'm aiming for more dense and being able to take my lung hits. I'm vaping on a hex ohm. 3.3~5.3v. I'm also using a zenith v2(not a clone), 1 hole wide open.

I ended up increasing id slightly, and adding 1 wrap.

I pull the cotton through the coil till I find tension, I think I had cotton packed too much under it as well. Any suggestions as to getting a more dense vape?

More VG---You sacrifice throat hit and flavor though. Hard to get the best of all worlds.

Less wick is more, imho...

In my experience, remove the cottom from under / in fromt of the coil. Have the space under the coil open for airflow. Whenever i wick similiar to your setup i get the dry ish hits after 5 secs as well.
I tried this, got bout halfway through a draw and burrrrrn lol. May try increasing my id again. Or just add some juice with higher pg to this juice.

Juice I'm using now is 93% vg(why don't they just make it 100%? Lol)

Yeah I know. Was just trying to stick with the single for now. As well as my 24ga. Don't think response would be great getting 24ga into dual coil @ .6 ohm.
I agree on duals, if you have 40 to 50 watts, I don't think heat up time would be that bad. If so, maybe try 25 or 26, or like a twisted gauge that equals slightly less then 24.

That makes sense lol.

Wrapped another coil that seems to be working well. Triple twisted 28ga. 7/8 wrap .6~7. I tried using cotton looser this time around. Running around 5.3v 40ish watts. Can get a full draw and vapor production if better than before as well. So I'm getting somewhere.

Finding that spot that works well for yourself is such a puzzle. I think I need to make another order to temco.

What about that gplat wire?
Some juices cant be 100% VG because some makers use PG based flavorings.

cus the juice is running to the coil quicker, yeah if you want clouds i also find you have to have air penetrating the whole of the outside of the coil, if you need to put cotton under the coil make sure you leave a gap between it and coil for the air, and if you need to take a longer drag without it drying to quickly then use an open coil, not a coil with the wraps touching like a micro :) GL

try some rayon aswell

you could try a spaced trunker coil? though i think it might not give a denser vape. More flavourful though.
Interesting, I'll have to search this.thanks!

Thanks! Yeah I have cotton under, I'll see if having the pg added will yield better results without that cotton underneath. I get nice vapor production and vapor right now(for a single coil). .67 @ 6v(like 5.9v @coil under load) so 52 to 54 watts(assuming I'm keeping this voltage up, having checked at a lower battery charge yet).

Right now I have been building single coils, right now I am using triple twisted 28ga, which brought more to the table then the 24ga.

Thank you all for the advice on my journey so far. I'm going to sleep now for my 12hr shift. I'm moving to my new house(I bought, yay! ) but I'm gonna try new builds soon.

Btw, if anyone has any rayon I can try, let me know :)
