I see a lot of members saying they vape at numbers as high as 12-15+ watts. Personally I can go to 9 when dripping but only around 7-8 when using a protank/cartotank/etc... Without getting burning juice. Maybe ratios have to so with it I use 50/50 and 75/25 PG/VG.

Is there a way to avoid the juice burn with more power?

How thick the wire is makes a difference in how hot it gets at certain watts. Most regular atties, cartos, and clearos use a thin wire that gets hotter than the wicking can keep up at much above 9 watts. Rebuildable devices that are build with lower gauge wire (lower means thicker) need more watts to heat up to proper temperature. Starting at 30 gauge kanthal wire, 8 watts doesn't heat up the coil very fast. Getting down to 28 gauge and lower needs 15+ watts to heat up quick for a good vape.

Rebuildables also are set up with better wicking, which can handle more heat. What seems like burning juice with higher watts on standard devices is usually the wick at the coil drying out. Coils get red hot real quick if not wet.
