I've been wondering for a while because I haven't had to buy batteries in so long..my VTC 5s are going on 5 years and have been rewrapped 3 times... I get confused by the 100 different details on each battery and how they use different languages on the Amps MAX PULSE MAX CONTINUOUS and so on, i'm looking for Mah in the 6000 plus range from 20 18650s, I don't know the amp number needed to power a Reg MOD,(which is sad because I started vaping in 08 lol) I vape under 50 watts on my devices and just never figured out the math and the different terms used on Amps, so if a device needs to have 20 AMPS to push it, can you use 2 20 amp batteries?im just looking for the max Mah to push my devices...what batteries can get you over 6000-6200Mah?

There are no 18650’s with a capacity rating over 3600mAh and those are rated under 5A, about 15W.

At 50W with two batteries, 25W per battery, I recommend the same batteries that @Rossum mentioned. 3000mAh per battery is the highest you will be able to use at that power level.

If you're vaping a dual-battery mod at under 50 watts, any of the 3000 mAh 18650s would be a good choice:
    LG HG2
    Samsung 30Q
    Sony/Murata VTC6
what the magic number for Amps per battery? My Efest 3000 mah have been workhorses, but i wanted to see if the Efest 3500 mah 10A Continuous, Rated 20A Max Pulse by Efest would work, how many amps does each battery when using 18650 pairs need to be?or no less then?and thanks

I bought 4 of the yellow LGs HE4s(higher rated then the HE2s) and none of them push my mods..they work great on my military gear and I've swapped out bad 22650s for 18650s, like NVGs or Flashlights to Baofeng Handhelds.and somebody at BestBuy I'm friends with gave me a box of around 50 laptop batteries that had 18650s and have replaced them with them. right now the Red LGs HE2 youre talking about and the yellow HE4s are 2.99..so I should grab the red ones I guess lol
and really the Samsung 30Q are good? there 15A Maximum Continuous and real cheap too,so are the Sonys

that helps out a lot thanks... I thought all 18650 had to be 50 Amp even in pairs to push mods, I bought 4 A7s chea[ and haven't had to order batteries in years..almost 4..i have a HANA and my VTC5,4s and LG HE4s won't push it?i have like 12 Sony VTCs laying around useless, but one set I bought 1st when they first came out have lasted threw 4 re-wraps

No magic number. Any battery can work in any mod it fits in as long as it is rated high enough for the way you vape. Different vaping styles (power levels) can choose from different batteries best suited for that.

Check out my blog (see my signature for the link) and grab my Recommended Batteries tables. There are some good suggestions there for different types of vapers.

With two batteries the watts you're vaping at are split between them, so 25 watts per battery. Current draw can go as high as 10A from each battery. In this case I would not use 10A continuous rated batteries.

The batteries @Rossum and @Mooch recommended in posts #2 and #3 are perfect for you.

Amp rating is far more important than the mAh rating. Easiest way to determine which battery to use is to determine your typical wattage setting on your mod, and then choose the battery(s) with the appropriate amp rating from this chart.

(A two battery mod will provide you with twice the wattage output of a single battery mod.)

WATTAGE PER SINGLE BATTERY on REGULATED MOD:
(Total wattage doubles using 2 batteries; Triples using 3 batteries.)
