hissing charger

Glad i didn't leave the battery charging overnight....i walked into the kitchen and heard a hissing sound. It was coming from the charger. The battery was not hot. Did a wire come loose???

I find that most of the China made chargers are unreliable - so I always keep extra ones, and dump those that start acting up.
