Great idea about donating to your local Food Bank...If you work somewhere you can talk to HR about hosting a company wide Food Drive.......Food Banks are in desperate need of canned foods right now due to the economy...

I am thankful for everyone I have in my life.
My wife who is also my best friend, my little girl and the rest of my weird family.:)
I am thankful to still be working a full time job (thank goodness for discount retail).
Most of all I am glad I quit smoking and can now hopefully live much longer and enjoy all the things I love.
I am thankful that even though I don't make much money it is still enough to provide for my disabled wife and my baby girl and still donate food to food banks.
Having used food banks in the past, I remember as I ate the food, I would think about the people who donated it and why.
Now that I am able to, I can see why they did.
It give you a warm feeling to know you are helping strangers to be able to do one of the most basic of functions of life.

Donate to your local food bank.
Even one can of food can mean alot to someone going without. :)

What am I thankful for?

HUMM – Good question ! ! !

And although this is for a contest, I really wanted to take this seriously and answer the question honestly - so here goes . . .

Well, simply put, I’m Thankful for – “My” Life . . . ALL of it, the good - the bad - and the ugly, especially the bad and ugly, for without experiencing all the bad and ugly things that happen in “My” Life - I would have never known and appreciate all the - GOOD ! ! !

More Importantly, I believe that “Nothing” can make anyone more Thankful for the little things and/or Appreciate all the “People” around them more – then experiencing for themselves what it is to be to have no money, be homeless, and/or hungry - or to lose a “Loved One” because of a disease, mental problem/disorder, they feel alone and are lonely, dependency on substances, or death . . . and lastly, what it is to even be the one actually suffering from these types of situations that usually happen to everyone, or to someone close to them that they know, sometime throughout their lives.

SO - What am I thankful for, since I have, or I know someone personally has, experienced many of these situations – I am Thankful for “My” Life ! ! ! And even more, “Thankful” for those people who are in “My” Life.

Now, while I know I have posted this before somewhere on ECF, given that this would be just as appropriate here and relates to my post, once again – here is something that I personally have adopted as kind of a “mantra”:

'I wish you enough.'

And when, 'I wish you enough,’ I want you to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain you . . .

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive & everlasting.

I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them; but then an entire life to forget them.

TAKE TIME TO LIVE . . .

I'm going home to be with my parents on Thanksgiving. They aren't doing very well; my Dad is going to retire in Feb. and my Mom is really bad-off healthwise. So I'm thankful most of all that I get to spend a little more time with the ones that mean the most to me. Oh, I'd also be thankful to win this contest (hehehe).

I am thankful for my friend giving me the chance to quit smoking and replacing it with vaping. He gave me my first kit and got me started, made it easier that most I think. Also,I am thankful for my wife putting up with the smell and odor and racking cough I had while I was smoking. And most of all I am thankfull I found ECF as it has truly become a second home for me on the web and I have enjoyed the many hours I have spent here!!!!

I am thankful for a lot of things, so it's hard to choose. I guess we'll go with my dad. He's not my bio-father, but he's been my dad for longer than I can remember. To talk to him, I am his daughter. Full stop. The only times he's uttered the words "step-daughter" were for legal paperwork. He's an old grouchy hermit who can understand my not as old grouchy hermit ways. Phone calls always end with "I love you, and all that good stuff." Some have asked why I have no inclination to track down my bio-father... I tell them that I have no need for that. My dad is my dad, and that satisfies me.
