I've signed the loan estimate forms and asked the builder to prepare the contract. My building loan officer is out of town this week
. I guess the appraisal will get ordered next week when she gets back.
In the meantime, mom will close on the sale of her house on Oct 13th. I'm flying out to Phoenix and then we'll fly back together on the 14th. I'm making space for her. We were going to rent short term, but short term rentals are pretty high, and she'd have to move twice. we're leaving that open ans an option if it's too stressful once the building starts.

Good morning. CES it sounds like the paperwork stage is taking longer than the actual construction will. Good luck. It has to be a trying process.
Oh, I think the construction, once it starts, will take about as long as the paper work. the estimate is 70-90 days. sigh.
CES, I know you are expanding for your mom but is the new space going to be your new master bed/bath?

I like my room, so the new space will be mom's. The entrance will be through the shared kitchen, so it'll be a little set off from teh rest of the house, but she can use it as an efficiency apt if she wants to.
Heading to a meeting in Columbus Ohio today through Sunday morning. I'll get a chance to see my brother, and i might get to see one of my nephews play in a HS football game.

Travel safe CES. My dad lives in Dayton but it's not really close to Columbus. We've been trying for a long time to get him to move closer to my sister so it's easier for her to help him but he's been pretty stubborn so far.
Looks like Fran is still here!! CES have a safe trip.
