No, they aren't the same and are not interchangeable. The plus can use 18650, 20700, and 21700 batteries.
If you are using salts then I would think you are probably looking to do mouth to lung(MTL) style of vaping. I would stick with the higher ohm coils if that's the case. I haven't tried MTL with any of either one of the coils so can't comment on how well they work.

I have a Kroma R sitting in a drawer.
Something was off on those in my opinion. I always felt like the output was low on them or something and didn't really care for the fire bar on them. I'm good with it on the kroma z but just never could learn to love the kroma r mods.
