Month end is over and I just turned in my monthly labor report. I was informed by my wife last night that this was going to be an expensive month. I thought last month was. Anyway, she took my daughter's letter jacket in for alterations and cleaning so that's going to be 120. Then there's school registration which is usually 2-300. Our dog is starting to chew her paws which means it's allergy season and that's gonna be one or two visits to the vet for medicine. Also, I just paid for my oldest daughter's books for college this coming semester. I did have a good commission month so that will help some. I'm going to try really hard to not buy any vaping stuff besides a few flavorings. That shouldn't be much.
My youngest doesn't work. I told both of the girls that if they keep their grades up that they don't have to work during high school unless they want to. My youngest has mentioned possibly working this year. The scholarship money they can get for good grades is worth more than the little bit of money they would make working part time at a minimum wage job. My oldest does work now. She has worked summer and fall breaks the past few years since she's been in college and is working about 30 hours a week right now. By keeping her grades up, she saved us 15k by getting scholarships for academics. My youngest does orchestra, tennis, and science Olympiad in school and my oldest did orchestra and theater in high school. The activities and homework don't leave a lot of time for working. I have to admit that I am looking forward to the girls becoming independent one of these days.
I forgot to mention that my oldest is paying some of her own expenses but is saving for a trip she has to take next year as part of her acting degree. They go to LA for a week to perform and meet with agents. It's a fairly expensive trip and she's doing a good job of saving for it.
Good morning. PT there was never any doubt what my oldest would go to school for. My youngest has changed her mind a few times but is just now a senior in high school.
I got my commission check this morning and it's better than normal so that should help with the extra expenses this month. I might even go ahead and order the flavors I've been wanting.
I was disappointed that they were out of the Italian cream. By the time they restock it, I may as well wait for the sale.
If they don’t, I’ve got plenty of new flavors to experiment with.
