Ok I checked out the chromebooks. They are pretty much laptops looks like.
You have your recipes and flavors, etc.....very easy when finding recipes online to copy and paste them into a file using the included chomebook docs and then saving it to the flash drive. Think of it as a c drive(on your main computer that has all the programs etc--same thing but in doesn't hold any program files--only holds what you put on it and is removable so I considered it the safest way to keep data. Once you remove it from the computer(if you ever do) no one can have access to that data except you when you plug it back in to use it.I'm not sure that I have anything to store.....LOL. Me computer dummy.

I have no interest in Mac. I already have a laptop and I'm really looking to replace my desktop. It's just what I'm used to and I'm rather stuck in my ways. You are right about the macs being expensive. You'd have to add about 900 to the price of a chromebook. I'm sure it's more than Fran needs. I was confused as to whether you wanted a laptop or a desktop computer Fran. I saw this morning that Micro Center has some good deals on Dell laptops right now with i5 processors if you wanted something with a good sized hard drive.
HP's are good computers and they have great printers. But for someone who doesn't need all of that(plus you have to keep up with the installations of programs) and have to buy extra security programs to guard against viruses and id theft etc. I am sorry it just seems to me to be way over the top and a whole lot of money for something you may never use its full potential for. That is just my opinion but whatever you feel comfortable with is what you should do.Not a Dell but my daughter sent me this

The only problem I have is that go fund me has no paypal access. I won't put my cc info onto the internet straight out like that. If you can find an alternate way, I will be happy to donate.

Thanks,Hitt. Every little bit helps out. On the computer I have no clue....LOL.I made a small donation. I'm not afraid or too dumb to care but I used my credit card. It's protected against fraud if someone got it.
The HP computer she sent the link for looks nice if you are willing to spend that much. I'm not sure why it's got an extra 16gb ssd.
