Hives and allergic reactions...Switch to VG?

So I vaped 4 years ago, and as I remember I didn't have any issues. I used both PG and VG, and cant ever remember having any kinds of allergic reactions to it.

However, after starting to vape again a few weeks ago (after starting smoking in August), I'm noticing that after a heavy day of vaping, I tend to break out in hives. These are mostly around my wrist area, behind my kneeds, lower back, and around my armpit area. They aren't major, but are larger than mosquito bites. In fact I thought they were mosquito bites, until I started noticing the clumps or multiple lumps. And after doing research, at this point I'm attributing it to vaping, as I've never been allergic to anything in my life. And it usually happens in the evening, just before bed. Which also tends to be when I vape the most, while watching TV etc.

The funny thing is, its not a constant thing. Some days I have them, some days I don't. The only thing that has changed this time, as opposed to 4 years ago is the size of my device. I vaped on little cartomizers back then, and now I'm using a tank device at 14w. So I'm vaping more, and more often now.

Since its not a constant, is it worth a switch to pure VG ejuice? Anyone else have sporadic issues like this?

Are you using different juices? If you are, thinking back, does it happen more often with one flavor than the other? And be careful, it sounds like you are just starting to develop the allergy, it may get much worse. You really should see a doctor. Anaphylactic shock can kill you. Been there, done that, not fun.

It was the flavors I thought might be doing it since it doesn't happen all the time. Perhaps it's an ingredient in one of the flavors. Perhaps use different flavors on different nights. Also get some Benadryl. You should see a doctor and if you start having trouble breathing, go to the ER. Allergies are no fun and trying to pinpoint the culprit isn't always easy. Perhaps get a bottle of unflavored and see if you have a problem with that. It' doesn't taste as bad as it sounds.

It's possible. According to my medical advisor, those locations are sweaty locations and you could be sweating out something that your body does not like. Other possibilities include environmental effects, or that the juice composition was changed by the manufacturer to include something your body doesn't like. Your Primary care physician would be able to either figure it out for you or suggest a specialist that would be able to figure out the problem.
