Hi everyone,

Newbie just joined today.

Live in the UK and recently persuaded to try e-cigs. Got my first kit last week with Cherry and Vanilla cartos got some more coming in the post soon!

I am a non-smoker (the traditional kind) just fancied a try and enjoyed it, no cravings for any nicotine as all are nicotine free.

No hate for the non-smoker-ness. I don't know if you are like that here but I know other places sometimes do.

Looking forward to getting involved

Hi & Welcome to ECF! I'm not sure just what is available in the U.K. in pre-mixed e-liquids but many of my personal favorites revolve around chocolate, just like in the Real World! Stuff like Fudge Chocolate Brownie, etc.

Also (and especially since you're not using nicotine) you might be interested in mixing your own juices. It's a lot of fun & it's also very inexpensive & simple. Right now I'm vaping a Peach Brandy juice I mixed using TFA's Juicy Peach & their Brandy flavorings along with about 2.5% nicotine in a 50PG/50VG base. The DIY juice is fun to do because you can make any flavor combo you like & practice it in small batches until it's perfected to your taste! Anyway check out the DIY section here on ECF for more information on how to do this, & have fun!

Blessings, :toast:

Thank you Warren.

Just been looking at some of the kits and realised I have some experience to gain. Making my own sounds a good plan will work up to that I think.

Just bought some kit from a Chinese company. Haven't read any reviews about it so hope its OK. It looked good on the website but I am naturally cynical.

Looking forward to my delivery today yay.

If you eventually go DIY start out making small batches--10 ml or less. There's nothing worse than 30 ml of something that sounded good on paper, but tasted awful. Wasted nicotine. Save the larger batches for something you know you like. I guess the same goes for buying pre-made. I once bought 30 ml of apple pie, and I couldn't stand it.

I'll definitely confirm curt9733's suggestion, even though presumably you won't be using nicotine; even quality flavorings can get a bit expensive if they're mixed in a way you find unusable. Another note: many e-liquids need some time to "steep" so their flavors can blend well. So you may try a new flavor & find it somewhere between "off" and "garbage" when you first get it. If that happens, don't dispose of it right away... instead, keep it for 2 -3 weeks & try it again, & it may surprise you. Also if after steeping for awhile it still doesn't work for you, you may find it useful in a blend with something else such as menthol or mint - just depends on what it is. Happy Vaping!

**Follow-up welcome and general good cheer**

***additional warning to avoid nicotine - please don't do it, and insure that the places you order from don't cross contaminate when mixing batches in bulk.***

I for one think it is cool that you were a non-smoker. I agree with the others, given that you need no nicotine at all, the DYI route will be tops for you.

As you hang out, you'll see mention of something called throat hit when people talk about various juices. Since I've started, I've learned that some of the hit comes from nicotine, so don't feel bad if there isn't any there for you when you're smoking. You can replicate it with a strong cinnamon or mint (menthol too).

All great advice guys, thanks so much. Will definitely take it all on board.

Quick qu, the cartos make a sizzling noise when i inhale.... may be a really stupid qu, but is that normal or the carto actually burning, read a few things on here about that.

Thanks again guys
DB
Hi daisy
Yes. The sizzle is good news.
If it sounds like bacon frying it is good.
If it sounds like water boiling, it is overfilled.
Have fun.
