Purchased some juice from Mt Baker Vapor the other day hoping to find something I like. Picked up some butter rum, Bavarian cream, peanut butter cup, and vanilla. When I opened the package I see a fifth bottle hmm. Pink Ice. After a quick series of email I discover it's a freebie (awesome perk btw). A check of their site described it as: Cool Menthol finds a Tart Lemon. Great, menthol. I can't stand menthol. Another bottle for the "don't like" pile, but just for grins I threw some in my vivi nova.

I'll be dipped if I don't love this juice. When I smoked I would turn down menthol even if I was out of cigs an jonesing. Who'da thunk?

The other kicker is that other than the butter rum (which was okay), I don't like the other flavors. I also didn't like most of the handful of fruit flavors I got from HHV.

I'm so confused. The only other flavors I've liked so far have been Heavenly 7, Bliss, and Devilish Delight from Mt Oak Vapor. All three are dessert flavors. Is there a better way to go about finding what my tastes are? It's been 30 days since I've had a cig, are my taste bud still changing? This is turning into an expensive treasure hunt.

It will probably take six months for your taste buds and sense of smell to fully recover.

As for your preferences, they're likely to change over time. I used to vape only tobacco, no menthol, but now I'm liking fruits and drink flavors more, and even a little menthol here and there.

I also didn't like most of the handful of fruit flavors I got from HHV.

I'm interested to know which ones you didn't like. I've had Cinful Pear and Cinful Apple and thought both were A+ good. Apple Butter Rum Cake was an A. Pineapple Mango Smoothie was a B+. I'd give the Just Peachy a B.

I've been recommending HHV Jiggy to everyone. I can't tell if it has any tobacco in it, but it's one of the most flavorful juices ever with a unique taste. I can't even begin to figure out what flavors went into it, it's that well-blended.

*** almost forgot: buy sample packs from the popular juice makers. Usually they're reasonably priced in $ per mL and you won't be stuck with big bottles of stuff you don't like.

Your tastes may change. It just may be you don't enjoy fruit vapes. I found I didn't, though there are some I do like. Mostly I like complex fruit vapes like banana nut bread or fruity tobacco or caramel apple. Other than that I prefer tobaccos, caramel, vanilla, coffees or mixes of them...things like that. Right now, I'm vaping some HHV cherry bomb mixed with another vanilla (mostly vanilla). The cherry is a great flavor and spot on, I just don't care much for vaping straight fruit flavors. But, I'm wild about HHV's tobaccos and her Tuscan Cocoa and Clockwork Orange.

So, hang in there. You will eventually find something or some combination you like. And, once in awhile you may even get a hankering to vape just a little of those fruits. Else, give them to someone else you know or someone on these forums. Or trade them. There are threads for pay it forward and trading.

Best of luck on your personal Quest. I will not recommend any particular flavor or vender as after 4 months smoke free I'm still looking for MY favorites.
I have over 40 flavors, tobacco and non-traditionals from more than a dozen venders. Some in sample sizes and others in up to 30ml sizes.
Some I liked and re-ordered and now don't like. Some I hated mellowed with steeping and are nice to vape. Some seem to change while vaping and that can get weird.
Sadly I must say most of <MY> preferred flavors at this time are from Dekang or Hangsen. I suppose it is the consistance that comes with experience. Their juices are always the same and most taste like their names describe. i.e. Blueberry is Blueberry

Hypno/Illusive/Cloudx or whatever are sales hype type names with illusive discriptions and most have one sided reviews.
I prefer to buy good taste not Hype

Everyone has their preferences - Good luck

Now I'm really confused.

I let all my HHV juices steep for 4 days with the tops off. Didn't like anything I tried after that.

Threw them in my box for another 3 days with the caps on and didn't touch them. I just threw some of HHVs cinful pear in my ego clearo and it tastes amazing!

I think I am just gonna have to do like a 5 days top off, 5 days top on steep before I make any opinions. I thought 4 days with both the cap and drip cap thing pulled off would be more than enough, especially since I have been shaking them on a regular basis.

i went through the same thing, i must have ordered 100 bottles of juice from different vendors( i loved ms.t's but it was just to thick for me) i finally decided to just buy non flavored nic juice from myfreedomsmokes and a hole bunch of cheep bottles of flavoring from them to mix with it.

it has worked out great for me i now have a bunch of flavors i love. some of the flavorings i didnt like on there own at all but work great to adjust/compliment other flavors.

there are millions of recipes out there to make your own but it really isn't to hard to make great flavors on your own,
for example fruit flavors dont tend to be very strong so i start with 15% flavoring for them then adjust from there once i try a few drops on a drip tip. lately my favorites have been apple, blueberry or peach at about 18% flavoring with a few drops of tobacco it reminds me of all those great smelling pipe tobaccos i used to smell as a kid but tastes awesome:)

While juices do change a bit over time, a lot has to do with your taste sense changing. Especially in the early days of vaping and quitting cigs. New vapers often get flavor block that can last from a few days to a few weeks, especially if they have been chain vaping and not hydrating well.

I wasn't a regular tobacco flavor guy, until I smpled several extracted and other tobacco flavors from HHV. I HIGHLY recommend trying some, Gandalf, heavenly tobacco, Dark horse, and Hunstman are all very good.

I'd also like to add "Pirates Booty" to that list. Excellent flavor!

I did not steep it, i only got a 3 mL sampler and couldn't wait to try it so the only steeping it did was the 4 days it took to go from mixing to arriving on my doorstep. I will get a big bottle very soon and will definitely steep it. I will still have some fresh out of the packaging froma new bottle, and then will steep it one week, try it again, 2 weeks, try it then, and then however long it lasts and will evaluate the flavor throughout it's lifespan!

My plan anyway.
