Ok, so I just got a new order in from ecigexpress. Flavors, some empty dropper bottles, and cartos. 10 boxes of the 2 ohm soft tips cartos. That will bring my total up to about 110 cartomizers in my "stash", not counting the odd unopened ones in random pockets, my desk at work, my little traveling 'kit' that stays in my truck, etc. I figure I'm about halfway to my "comfort zone" of 200+.

Next payday, I'll be ordering more nicotine base for DIY -- 250ml at 100mg. This will get split up into glass bottles for rotation, so I can keep as close to 2 years worth (the nicotine shelf-life) on hand at all times. One more order after that, and I'll be there on the nicotine front. Add onto that a half-liter each of PG and VG, and probably 2 dozen 30ml bottles of flavors...

I've also got a big pile of battery connectors for building mods, about a dozen 14500 batteries, 3 of the dual-slot multifunction chargers, numerous other batteries for other mods I've got...

Am I obsessive? Probably. When I first started vaping, I was worried about an FDA ban. Then it was a concern over simply running out due to unforeseen circumstances... so I had stuff stashed all over. Now, though, I'm concerned about our currency being debased by Helicopter Ben & a possible collapse of the US dollar. When it happens (my opinion is, it's a "when", not an "if"), and the bottom falls out of the exchange rate, prices for all imports will skyrocket as the dollar takes a nosedive against other currencies, particularly the Yuan. I mean, what are we going to do when the Chinese don't want our money anymore?

So, I'm just wondering: Are you a "hoarder"? What's your impetus for amassing a huge stack of vaping stuff? Just as a hobby, or because you want to try everything out there, or are you concerned about ecigs becoming difficult (or impossible) to get?

I can *make* just about anything hardware related, except those battery connectors and the actual atomizing element. Nic base is made, IIRC, by dissolving nicotine sulfate powder into a base liquid... and most nicotine sulfate is actually made in India, so there's the whole 'exchange rate' thing, not to mention it's a potential target for the FDA just like the atty coils.

Everything else, everything but the connectors, nicotine, and atomizing coils, can be sourced here in the US for other purposes. Lithium batteries might be more expensive in a collapse scenario (since lithium comes from China), but on a per-use basis they're really the cheapest consumable in the whole system. They're also immune to FDA confiscation.

Just let me know. I was in a tight bind when I first started vaping and decided after that, no way would I do that again. Plus the FDA was in big time swing trying to pass the ban. I panicked and started stockpiling stuff. I'm not so bad now-a-days but when I ruin carto's, I place big orders so I don't have to worry.

I recently sold off 6 brand new map tanks, 2 goosenecks, and both of my Infinities...so I haven't totally lost it yet...LOL.

Wifey vapes too, she is happy with the little ego though. I mix her juices, thats about it. Odd how I can get so fired up and turn vaping into a hobby, and she is just happy with whatever I hand her, haha.

As far as parties, thats the funnest part of vaping. Allows a lot of people to come together with something in common. There are so many options out there, its fun to test, and see people's reactions. Try juices from different vendors or our own mixes. It's kinda like the lure of ECF, a common interest, but in person its much more fun.

I'm bound and determined not to go back to cigs. So whatever it takes, DIY to make sure I can get whatever flavor I want at any time, lots of different mods and ever new atty and carto that is made so I don't miss out on something cool. In the end, even if I wanted to go back to smoking, cigs just couldnt compare. Its like me trying to go back to a 901 atty and dripping on an ego, just can't happen anymore, wouldnt be happy.

You can subsitute rca phono jacks for the normal threaded connections. I have a large collection of taps and die in any case. For the atomizers I have a supply of nichrome wire and sourced "non-vaping" related replacement vendors. Power can always be had thru any cheap available USB hub. Dremel bits and accessories are cheap. I vape with a PV-1 and roughstack, both built rock solid and made to last.

My only long term sticking point is the nicotine, so I have stockpiled about a year's supply so far and am always on the lookout for unflavored nicotine base sales.

Even paranoids have real enemies, no sense in not being careful....

I agree whole heartedly. After going VV with cartomizers, I hate the thought of having to ever going back to smoking. YUCK! Much like yourself, I try just about every new gadget that comes out. Some I have been skeptical about so I waited for reviews and didn't purchase in the end.
