Hobo users, any advice on my build? Tried parallel verticals and it's not working out.

edit: I tried slanting the coils on this build at a 45degree angle this time, instead of horizantal like last time. Bottom of the coils meet the bottom of the airflow..

I also forgot to mention - I installed the coils on the wrong side, so I have to slightly unscrew the wall so that the airflow slots are in the right place (in front of the coils). This could be causing the slight leak, and the airy vape

Yeah I'd run the wall screwed down tight to prevent air AND juice leakage. The 3rd hole would probably keep it form being airtight now that you mention it. It's above the O-rings so there's a little room for flow there.

Reposition your coils if possible. Were you able to get your hobo to sit all the way down on top of your IPV3? Mine has a gap.

Post a pic if you can. I have a 28ga 0.5 ohm build on my hobo right now but haven't ran it on the IPV3 as it doesn't sit all the way down. And also I've grown to hate the whistle I get out of the Hobo. I'm used to the MutationX so the Hobo feels almost like a Kayfun these days. One day I'll chamfer the Hobo airholes in hopes the whistle goes away.

I like my Mutation X better in almost every way. The Hobo has 4 posts, holds more juice and doesn't weep as much but everything else is better about the MX. The MXv2 has 4 posts.

Sorry to go somewhat offtopic here, but what are some of your favorite coil setups on the MX? Mine is collecting dust because I just haven't been happy with the flavor, and funny thing is - I have been contemplating picking up the hobo. Lol

Your post gives me hope, that maybe I just need to try different coils or something. I primarily vape around .2 - .3 ( I like a warm vape ).

In other news, I took a tiny round file to the air inlets on the Hobo. It didn't make a huge visual difference (was hoping for a nice rounded funnel look) but it did quieten the whistle a little. Will spend more time on it later.

If anyone cares, I just rebuilt my Hobo with 25ga Kanthal. 0.095" ID (2.4mm), 6.5 wraps for 0.3 ohms. Plain horizontal dual coils. Loving the Hobo direct connected to my Stingray X right now. It's direct connected because the positive pin is too long for anything but this setup and my Sentinel clone. This build is giving me some fantastic flavor and it's chucking some nice clouds given the tight draw and relatively high resistance (for me).

I think my new hobby will be filing the air holes on my Hobo to get a nice ported look (and hopefully a silent draw). Might have to get myself a dremel for xmas to speed up the process. Scared to mess it up by going too fast though.
