How long should a battery hold its charge? This morning I took one of my batteries off the charger because the green light was showing that it had finished charging. A few hours later when I went to use it, the light blinked to indicate it needed charging!

Are these things supposed to hold a charge? What if I wanted to charge them all up and go somewhere?

Is this a factory defect or is this how they are supposed to work?

While I can't begin to provide any worthwhile answer I can give some tips that will allow others to better respond.

Please provide the following if possible:

1. What kind of battery is in question here, and or what model of PV is it for?

2. What kind of charger is being used (pcc, wall charger, brand etc.

3. How old is the battery and charger in question?

4. Do you have other batteries charged on the same charger that perform better than the problem one?

The more detailed the information you can provide up front will generally result in a more accurate answer in the end.

In an effort to answer your question with the data provided I can only state that any battery that is in good working order should hold a charge once it is removed from a charger for some time (much longer than 2 hours)

It may also be possible that something occured such as but not limited to the folowing:

Leaving the battery on the charger after it was charged resulted in it discharging while still in the charger, and actually being drained when you removed it.

The battery itself is simply faulty, at or near end of life, about to give up the ghost, dead etc.

The charger and battery may both be fine, but the battery was inadvertantly activated and discharged after it was removed from the charger via having its button pressed if a manual or being exposed to noise/vibration of it is an auto.

The LED on the battery is malfuntioning and actualy still charged ( or not!)

Some other freak event I am not clever enough to think about just now :D

Thank you for your prompt response!

The battery is for a KR808D-1.
It is brand new. (I have been vaping for less than two weeks, so I may well be doing something wrong!)
It was charged using a USB charger in my desktop computer.

I think I may know what I did wrong. I left the battery and USB charger in my computer overnight. When I turned the computer on this morning, the light on the charger had turned blue, so I took the battery out. I am wondering whether the light change was simply a function of the computer start up. In other words, it wasn't really charged at all.

Is this possible?

I am going to try it again when I know the sucker is charged to see what happens!

Normally, can you take a charged battery and have it stay charged until you use it?

It may have not charged. When you turn off your computer, the USB ports turn off too. Your battery was on a charger all night without power.

Just an FYI;
1. I just got out 6 batteries that were in my box for about 3 months. They're all still fully charged.

2. I suggest you look into some 110v to USB adapters for your e-cig equipment. If something goes wrong, it's easier to replace a cheap adapter then it is to have your computer repaired.

cheers;

Good point there. Also if your computer has a "sleep" mode after not being used for a length of time, it may power off the USB ports during that time although it is still turned on. Easy to think it is charging when its not.
