'Hooples' is a Rob slang term for people like myself that overtighten attys and break things; that strip screw threads so they have to be returned to be repaired and generally mistreat Reos.

Idiots basically.
Like button-mashers?

Hoopla, of course, is a game where you try to throw an o-ring around the base of an RM2. Perhaps.

Of course, it is. I thought everyone knew THAT!

ETA: Hooples DOES sound a lot nicer than idiots.

You may be amused to know that the first time i returned a Reo was not only for button-mashing, although it was related i'm sure. It was because it was dirty and no longer fired reliably. So i pressed harder until it did!

2 weeks later, Rob posted the "How to clean your Reo in a sink and file the firing pin etc etc" video.

I have subsequently melted about 8 firing buttons, but that's for unrelated hoopliness.

Did he dedicate the video to you? :p

We all thank you for inspiring such a useful video. I just wish I had known about button-mashing before I did it! I was expecting a 'clicky' button, a la Phil Busardo. But, it didn't click, no matter how hard I tried!!!

If you put a little magnet on top of a flat-top battery......

I spent the entirety of my vaping career thinking that all you Reo enthusiasts were nut jobs that overestimated a wonky product...... (no offense btw )

HOLY FRACKING REO WAS I WRONG!

Got my first Reo today in the mail thanks to fishercat via the classifieds. All I have to say is.... nice job Rob, these are some seriously nice mods!

I might just be in love

Congrats!

I think a lot of us have that initial resistance. "I'm gonna pay how much for... that?" You can't fully appreciate these things and the great machining that goes into them until ya get the thing in your hands. Combine that with the ease of function and you end up at :

I might just be in love

Can't help notice that hard hat in your post. Once you drop it the first time at work - or the sixth time - and you just pick it up, maybe put the battery back in, and keep on vapin' you will just smile at those dings and scrapes the finish might accumulate. Don't recall who said it here but it's true: "Takes a scraping and keeps on vaping." We like our battle scars here.

It's all intended as good natured humor, in case anyone was wondering. I've even seen Robert refer to himself as a hoople.....but of course, being a hoople, I could be completely wrong about that :)
You are correct my friend I am not insulting anyone not my style I am a hoople for sure

Unfortunately I lost over a year of owning and enjoying Reos because I misjudged Reonaught's as folks I wanted nothing to do with... based entirely on a very outspoken one on another forum that made my skin crawl. My silly mistake, for judging all based on one I disliked so much. The folks here are really great as a whole, and Rob is nearly unmatched as mod mfg's I have dealt with go. When I get my next Reo, I will have more of them than any other brand of mod I own (tied with GP at the moment), and already have way more atty's for them than any other mod I own. They are all I buy now, the others are almost all retired, so there will be more Reos and atty's for them around here.
