New mod built today... Home Depot $1.00 flashlight, 14500 battery, teeny little low current switch using a control pin regulator and a custom turned 510 head on it where the LED used to be... having a lathe that will turn threads ROCKS!

This runs at 3.7V or you can SQUEEZE a pair of 14250 protected in there for 5V

Modders should take note... Home Depot has about 15 different flashlights for the holiday gift giving season and there are a LOT of cool variations. Plenty for the torch modder to keep busy for a while.

Sweet mod!!! Very nice!!

I have so many things from flashlights to flexible gas grill lighters that I want to mod and am trying to keep from going mod crazy.....

I've seen a lot of flashlight mods and that has to be one of the best!! Nice and simple and streamlined..... what kind of control pin regulator are you using?

Great that you can thread your own parts!! The other cool thing I saw recently was someone bought 2 flashlights and used the bottom cap of one to replace the top of the other making an and inexpensive tube.

Thanks for posting the mod and pics!

I'm using this control pin regulator and this switch.

The original bottom switch from the flashlight is being used as a master switch. The atty end is machined out of T-6 scrap, so I have less than ten bucks in this thing including the battery... and about 5 hours... lol

Is there somewhere to find step by step instructions how to build something like this. I've had the bug to build one but am not an electrician. I am a tinkerer and can solder but not quite sure what is necessary to build one of these. Any suggestions?

those switches have 3 prongs on them, the switches i have , have 4 prongs on them, cant seem to get them to work tho, positive and negative get soldered to them right? do it madder where?

Only two of the "prongs" are used and you would never need to have both positive and negative going through it... in the case of this mod, the switch connects positive to the control pin input.

Check madvapes how to setion. the outside doesn't really matter just find a schematicc that fits your needs and build away, They have step by step instructions on box mods you could apply to this. I have one of those ,maybe I'll mod it.

The real trick is to mod the mouse and keep it functional...

It's easy too... make one of the AA battery holders operate the mouse with a 14500, and the other battery holder operate the vape...

disable the scroll wheel switch from the circuit card and use it to hit the trigger pin on a control pin regulator...

And there you have it... Modded Mouse

Yeah... I'll send it to you. Sounds like you've done it before. I expect that you know micro-circuitry and can figure what goes where. I don't have that particular skill.
I really would be satisfied just modding a maglite mini. holds 2 ea. AA batteries. I have one that doesn't work any longer, so I'd love to try it.

I've never seen a home depot-less town... Maybe I'll send you this one when I'm done playing with it.

Ya, I live in a tiny town. We have Walmart and Lowes...but Lowes sucks and I've looked for cheep flashlights but they don't have any, go figure. That's sweet of you but you don't have to do that. :) Maybe one of these days I will get brave and try my hand at it but I don't have the tools for that lol, it's just so cool how y'all make all this different stuff and yours is really awesome looking!
