If you are planning to build a better battery, here are some things you might find helpful.

This is a perfectly valid idea, as long as you stop with increased mAh. Once you start increasing voltage it becomes a new ball game. mAh refers to how long a battery will last given a specific load.

You increase the voltage and at the small values you are working with, it would be akin to applying 12v to a 6v light bulb. It would work better than ever for probably just a little under 1 second & then dead for ever.

Just took some measurements on what I think is an "Original Classic" (Epuffer) Atomizer.

The heating coil is a 4 ohm resister wire. And assuming a 3.65 V battery, that means every time you engage the battery by puffing, 0.9125 amps passes through the wire.

I have measured NJoy Pen Style Atomizer with 3.8 ohm resister wire. That means every time you engage the battery by puffing, 0.96 amps passes through the wire. If this is typical, it might be responsible for more frequent burnouts.

All things considered, 1 amp is quite a lot of power.

It's no wonder the battery goes dead so fast and the atomizer blows so easily.

For those that are not familiar with Ohm's Law, the formula that applies here is volts/resistance=current(amps).

Thus 3.65v/4Ω=0.9125amps.

Those are the facts.

we intend to make one that takes 1000 to 2000 mah lithium batteries.. it wont look like a real cigarette but it should last a year or so and have a run times of up to two or three days depending on use..

the idea is for it to take generic atomizers either classics.. 901s or whatever..

nothing can be done about atomizer life but the battery problems can be fixed.. it wont resemble a cigarette thow and at first is likely to have a manual switch....

I wanted to know if it would be easy to make with a battery from a mini.
And what colour wires do I connect.

icemanmaz, So far from what I've seen, the wire colors differ somewhat, but there are usually a red and a black. Sometimes one of the wires to the led is also red or white. Not really interested in that one.

There is a wire (short) red directly to the battery. That is the + wire (red). Another goes to the led and the other end of the battery. That is the - wire (black).

The USB cable should have a red and a black wire. Red to red and black to black.

When you draw on the cig, the third wire will have a voltage on it, so you might want to put a piece of tape on it or a little silicone glue to keep it from shorting out on anything.

Red and black are standard configuration in electronics for + & -.

If someone else has had a different experience with these batteries, please chime in. European color codes are sometimes different.

Thanks Trog- not sure if it'll fit- Some dude on a Dutch forum tried a battery from DE but it was too wide? Not sure what that was all about as I thought 3 volt batteries are all the same width? No? I went out and bought a small 3 volt, but it didn't work- not sure what happens to the Ruyan disposables, but when the battery gets just slightly below 3 volts (mine measured 2.9 on volt meter) it simply will not work, and the whole throwaway cigar guts/microchip or whatever don't work as well. I could get the cigar to create vapor with a 9 volt, but just for 2-3 puffs, then the led wouldn't stay on, and couldn't draw anymore, or hte light would just come on for a second, then fade out- I'd set the cigar down for a bit, try again- same scenario- ok vapor for 2-3 puffs, then nothing again. Taped two 1.5 volts together- same thing happened. I took the whole guts apart, and I can not find a 'microprocessor' on the unit at all unless it is in the very small circuitry board that the LED light is on- oh well- maybe I fubarred the cigar by dropping it- will have to see if I can wire up another battery on my next cigar when it goes out- hopefulyl I don't drop this one lol

But my question in previous post was abotu what kind of device you are creatign that can go 2-3 days on one charge? Those batteries you listed will go that long? That'd be great if they do. Are you building a cigar-like device?

the ruyan throw away one does naz.. ???

naz.. an e cigar is just and e cig that looks like a cigar.. an e pipe is just an e cig that looks like a pipe.. there is no other difference..

if i made one that looked like a brick it would last all month.. he he

i could make something like a ruyan cigar shape (1600 mah rechargeable) or a shorter (fatter) double barrel shape up to 2600 mah rechargeable).. or anything in between..

battery run time comes down to battery size.. the bigger the battery the longer it will run for.. the average e cig battery is about 150 mah.. work the rest out yourself..
