The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
OK maybe the title should be Modding mini 2.0 to 2.1 as I haven't made a 2.1 myself

I am so tempted to take my 18490 metal to my machinist friend and turn the well out to accept my ERA atty. I have the old ERA where the thread nipple is too long so I could machine it just right so as not to compress the gasket when screwed all the way in

No it's anodized so I don't want to do that. I will likely buy one from you in a few months when my times right. It's just that it is my favorite out and about Reo. And I would like to use one of my RBA's on it.
Plus maybe I'm the odd one in the bunch but I like it the way it is. It's like my soother :D

You don't need a machinist to turn your well. If you are meticulous, you can DIY. The 6th post in this thread explains how I did it.

Thanks needo. I've seen that. My goal is to get it at just the right depth for the ERA to sit correctly. I suppose I might get lucky that way but I don't know

Justice, were you wanting a lip inside the well for the ERA to sit on?

Is it something like the illustration below? (Ignore the periods they are for spacing purpose only.)

l.........l
l_......_l
..l___l..

Exactly. That way no risk of compressing the gasket.

I can see where you would want a machinist to do that. I wouldn't trust a wooden jig to maintain the correct height.

I don't know if I was compressing the gasket on the Reomizer or not. But, I filled in the void with silicon sealer to leave no space for juice to gather, and to remove any possibility of leaking. Advice to anyone else reading this. Don't leave the feeder tube in place while doing so. I had to clean out the juice path with yarn before the silicone dried.

Here is an image showing how tight the fit is.
