I guess cheaper might be subjective.
The only parts I had to pay for was the brass hardware...around 6$ CDN.
The wood, springs, and stainless steel I had kicking around and the 510 connector was about $1 each when I bought a bunch about a year ago.
I have all the tools (drill press, grinders, dremels, and such in my
shop) but that could add up if you don't have those.
So all in all I have about $7 and 4-5 hrs labour into this. I never stained it as the body wasn't as well done as I thought it could be.
