Tin in this context is a verb... Tinning wire is the act of coating the wire with solder. The term would apply to any solder alloy. That said, yes, you should definitely use lead free solder. My personal preference is SN96AG4.
slowly built this, not the cleanest but fires every time and is entirely homemade.
top cap is 12g cartridge cap and the tip is a brass piece which was already made that i found lying around not that it matters but inside the mouthpiece is a one way ball valve. toggle switch will be replaced with a push to make switch when i get round to buying one
