JenWill, congratulations on choosing to quit the analogs, on the arrival of your kit, and to hubby deciding to join you. The information you have shared will help we newbies have an enjoyable experience. I found that smoking the analogs by halves made me sick of them before I ran out. Now I wonder why my friends and family would choose to smoke instead. Good luck to you and hubby. Welcome to ECF.

I have noticed there are 2 factors to getting that "hit", but each is to their own.
These are my expierences so far in the first (almost full ) day of vaping:
1.) Nicotine level of e-juice
2.) Speed of drag. (as per sebt ) I find that their suggestions are indeed correct! - slower intake = better vape.

Thanks sebt, JenWill! your knowledge is very helpful and appreciated! :)

I am new to vaping and I bought my starter kit last Friday and received it today :) I bought the Halo G6 along with the Sample trial ejuices, and also received the new HX3 flavor. I have only had maybe 1 analog today since receiving my ecig, I tried to smoke it but didn't like the taste, because vaping offered so much more taste that I never knew was possible! The flavor I ordered was Menthol Ice, and after learning how to refill a carto, I added a few drops of the HX3 to my Menthol Ice and now (hope it's not just me ) it kinda tastes like a lightly toasted Hazlenut.

I will definatley be ordering more flavors, batteries, and blank cartos soon.

Congratuations to receving your kit! I add double mint and spearmint to the menthol ice to get a refreshing minty menthol. It keeps me away from Smooths.

JenWill: Yes it is weird on the first hit! :) lol Still adjusting to not using a lighter haha

My starter unit batteries was available in different colors as well :) ( I love choices of color ), I chose the Midnight Blue(battery)and cartos are all black (I think but could be wrong).

Yeah the cartomizers I found were either black or clear. Not sure I want clear. Maybe in the future some colors will come out though!

Quick question.....do most people hit their PV like an analog (drag vapor into the mouth, then inhale) or drag and inhale at the same time....if this makes sense to ya...lol.

Honestly, this is something that I am not really struggling with, but I don't know another word to use. I have to remind myself to "drag" differently from an analog. I am taking slower drag and inhaling at same time.

I'm still learning. Dragging really slowly works well for me. I mean a long, slow intake of breath, not at all the quick pull that works well on an analog cigarette. If you've smoked analogs, it seems counter-intuitive, but it makes sense:

- On an analog, a faster airflow makes it burn hotter: more intense hit.
- On a PV, a faster airflow cools down the atomizer more quickly, draining more power: a less intense hit.

That's how I understand it, anyway. (My PV is manual - I don't know if automatic PVs are sophisticated enough to adapt to airflow speed, as opposed to just switching "On" or "Off").

Happy vaping! :vapor:

Very good information. I purchased a manual and an automatic 510. I thought I would prefer the auto's analog simulation but the clerk made the manual sound so much cooler that I HAD to have it, too. They both work well but I prefer the manual. I think it has a warmer throat hit.

Something that I have noticed already this morning......very dry mouth, so good thing I drink alot of water all day anyhow......and when I was grabbing my supplies this morning, a couple of my juices are starting to steep.

I could see a slight color change from yesterday afternoon already(I had taken a picture of my new treasures and then compared it this morning once I noticed that).

Getting my ego today! Think I might just have to leave work early haha. First day with no cigs for me and I'm just using a POS cig2o.

My KGO should be in the mail today and I have been racking my brain trying to come up with a way to leave work early. Have to take the kiddo to music lessons as soon as I leave work and it will be after dinner before I even get home to open the mailbox.:(

Where do you get your flavors at? and will have to try that Thank you! :)

I placed my order for my kit with The Vapor Room. For first time purchasers, you get free 15 ML of your choice and also with each kit you get 6ML free. Then I also ordered a sample pack as well.

BUT I really think it is going to be trial and error in finding what flavors I like, what I love, what vendors I prefer etc. So I already have an order in with Ms. T's Bakery and I also am getting some liquid from vaporgod as it comes free with each 5 pack of cartos...and I ordered 2.

I figure I am just going to buy smaller sizes from different vendors to just try stuff. If I find something that I think is just great, then I will buy larger size of it and continue trying different things.

This! I'm glad I got a manual. I can "preheat" by holding the button on slightly before starting to inhale. Vaping outside, in a Glasgow winter (cold and damp), quite a bit of preheat is needed to get any kind of flavour.

Soooo many flavors, don't know where to start lol :p
I know flavor is of personal preference, but how do you know where to start on choosing flavors/which ones you will enjoy?

That is something I'd like to know as well. The minty menthol is the only thing I have found that I really like. I thought I would like fruits but the ones I chose are too sweet and thick.

Honestly, out of the shipment I received yesterday none of them were steeped. So I had to think about which one I thought would be sweet from the get go. I can taste sweet, I can taste richness but this was to just get it rolling.

I know full well that my taste buds will take some time to heal, so my next one to open I think will be smooth menthol. I am thinking I want to save the tastier stuff for maybe another week....plus everything needs to continue steeping.

Can't wait for my hubby to see yet another charge on the bank account for more juices

Isn't too thick possible a VG issue? For using Cartos, I have read reviews saying use no more than 30% VG.

And you know what too? Like I said below about my taste, it might taste off to you right now. Whatever flavors you are using now, put them to the side for a while and revisit it later.

How long do you let them steep? I've read that some only need 24-48 hrs, others like you state a week or so..is there a difference as per flavor? sweeter = longer? minty = shorter? or is it just based on judgement?

I also read the most people recommend an 80PV/20VG ratio is good for cartos so I figure a 75pg/25vg is close...

I apologize to asking so many questions as I'm a nOOb to all this, I appreciate any help you all give me!!
