Hello everyone who reads this, hope your day/evening is well so far!

I started smoking at 11, quit cold turkey at 13 when my mom found out, then started back up at 15 years old when a friend offered me a cigarette (some friend) and I thought, oh I quit before I can do this one (yeah right!) That was 30 years ago, been smoking every since. A few weeks back went to a tobacco shop for some "roll your own" and saw these vaporizors. I'd heard about ecigs before and thought, I should buy this. It was from the makers of zig zag. I also bought some bear naked juice (it was not so nice), but it did help me cut down on smoking analogs. After a few days I started feeling really sick towards the end of the day, and when I switched from 70pg/30vg to 80 vg / 30pg, the sickness went away. I have stopped smoking analogs for two and a half days now and bought new juice from a local vape shop.

I want to say thanks so much for this forum! I was a lurker for the last few weeks and I am amazed at the amount of information and support that goes on here! This place is truly remarkable! I do have a question though, and not sure if the answer would be more of a "try it and see" or if someone else has gone through what I have experienced. Since starting on the 80/20, and not smoking analogs, my lungs have felt so much better (I have asthma and have for years now). The last day or so though, I have felt a bit congested and wheezing a bit in the lungs. Is this normal after quitting analogs? Do you think it's too much vg and maybe I should try a 70vg/30pg blend? Thank you, and also thanks for letting me be a member of ecf.

the pg/vg ratio does not make that much difference. way more people think they have sensitivity to pg than actually do around here.
your lungs are going to go through changes during your transition. par for the course, just suck it up.
A nausea feeling generally means your nic level is to high. Remember the first time you smoked too many ciggs.
You only mentioned the pg/vg ratio in your post. the nicotine level is either listed as mg/ml or a nicotine %.
18 mg/ml = 1.8% nicotine which is probably a good starting place. nic strengths are usually 24 18 12 6 3 and zero

Welcome to the forum. I think eyerhere covered your question pretty well. I will say that I get spells where it seems like my throat has excess phlegm. I think for me it has something to do with how much throat hit I am getting. I have noticed different flavors hit differently. But glad you joined the forum. You'll learn lots here.

Thank you! :) Maybe that's what it is. I recently purchased an eleaf istick, and it gives more of a kick than the ego style zig zag battery I had.

Thanks for replying eyerhere. I started with a 6mg nicotine bottle with the 70pg/30vg blend. And then after two days switched to a 12mg 80vg/20pg blend. I haven't had issues feeling sick with the higher nicotine level or higher vg blend since switching.

So the wheezing and congestion feeling is normal then you are saying?

Welcome to ECF, yes, most likely it's just a normal side effect of not inhaling smoke, if it doesn't go away fairly soon or you start to feel worse though you should see a doctor.

Yes, the nic can be overdone because of fear/anxiety. Just keep it out of your line of sight and go with nic urges. That helped me.

Sorry, not sure if the proper thing to do is edit a post to add a comment from another person, or to reply and make another post. (I am thinking read everything the first time then make one post, I will try that next time and keep this in mind). But This is good advice Frenchfry!

I've never bought anything from Misthub, but I did read some of their faq stuff. It seems reasonable, but I can't say for sure how accurate this stuff is. Anyone that reads it will need to make that determination for themselves. Anyway, here is a link that explains some of the differences of VG and PG. I put spaces in the beginning of the URL because I read here that I can't post links initially as a new member and to use spaces.
https:// www .misthub. com/blog/propylene-glycol-pg-vs-vegetable-glycerin-vg-e-juice/

EDIT: Oh, I have a few friends who started vaping within the last year or so. Some of them still smoke, and a couple haven't touched them since. One friend smoked 2 packs a day and now vapes exclusively. Myself, I used to smoke around 1/2 to 2/3 of a pack a day (Camel Menthol Silver) and now I vape exclusively for the last 6 months or so. So I guess it can be done, but your mileage may vary I suppose.
