I found cute stuff on thevaporgirl.com - I'm nervous about ordering liquid online because I'm picky, but our local vape stores sell online (I really like allaboutvapor.com - they're close to me and the folks there are super nice).

Good luck. I guess I'm lucky to live in a metro area. :)

I do not. Wish we did. What we have is what is at the gas stations. So pretty limited, aside from the internet.

Hi Krissie,

You are most welcome. Yes, the learning curve is a bit steep at first but at least it's fun!

While the Ego device might not be quite as discreet as the Blu, it's not really that much bigger. It easily fits in a shirt pocket even with a clearomizer attached (such as is included in the kit I pointed you to ). The nice thing about the clearomizer is that it holds a pretty fair amount of juice so you don't have to fill up so often. While a lot of folks do refill cartomizers ( I believe Blu calls them cartridges which is really isn't accurate becuase you don't have a separate atomizer) rather than simply replace them with fresh ones ( which can be costly ) and I do myself on occasion, I much prefer only having to fill up once or twice a day. Not to mention that they are pretty inexpensive so you can grab a couple to have as backups or when you'd like to change flavors but don't want to spend the time cleaning the clearo ( clearomizer ).

However, if it's more important to you that the device be ultra compact, you could also use the ego devices with a cartomizer which streamlines things a bit. In either case, they are still pretty compact but with much more power and capability than an auto battery such as the Blu.

I hope it doesn't seem like I'm bashing Blu, that isn't my intention at all. I started with an auto battery myself ... I just wish I hadn't! I could have spent that money much better elsewhere even back when I started where there wasn't nearly the options that there are today.

But no worries whatsoever. You need to go with what you feel fits you best. If at possible, try and find a brick & mortar vape shop near you where you can actually try different devices and juices out. That might be the best option.

Vape on! :)

Unfortunately no shops around. So I have to wing it lol. And I'll be the first to bash blu because they hit our area like it was the greatest thing and is the biggest disappointment to me lol. I was reading on the 777 ecigs that was also mentioned they seem to be nice. I do have the site you gave and look at those ones. I think I'm just nervous about refilling and whatnot, but doesn't seem too bad watching some youtube videos with reviews. I just pictured it being this long inconvenient process, lol. That is my own ignorance for not reading up more Thanks again. Greatly appreciated.

As mentioned earlier, ecigs deliver the nic differently then analogs and for that reason one should not take 24 mg eliquid to be the same as 24 mg analog. Stay away from juices that simply read Low Medium and High, the high is usually no higher then 16 or 18 mg. In fact, I personally do not vape any thing under 32 mg because it simulates a ultra lite analog for me. I think this is the main reason most newbies run back to cigarettes in a couple of hours to a couple of days.

I would also encourage you to move up to a ego, great bang for the buck, get a vivi nova or kanger tube and your ready for serious vaping. As for the eliquids, I am definitely the minority here! I don't like vaping any thing that taste like candy, fruits or food. But a lot of people dig it so you never know. You might dig it too. If not the tobacco flavored one's come close, try the RY4, USA or Maboro, or similar. I also keep some Clove on hand, tho I don't like to vape it str8 up I do occasionally like to mix a little to my other stuff.

Good Luck!

Hi and welcome to the ECF and vaping Krissie! While never having used a blue myself (thankfully), I started with the V2 cig-alikes (the parent company of vapor couture, actually) and found them to be a better alternative to the Blu and Njoys on the market. My best friend was losing the fight when he was using the Blu's. I had already ordered a larger passtrhough style battery from another company, so I decided to PIF (pay it forward) to him.

He's been off the stinkies for four days now :toast:

I'd recommend the link that NGAHaze put up there, as even if that's a "cheap" knockoff, it will still serve you better than paying $10-$14 on a disposable. The clearo (the tank) it comes with is solid, and easy to fill. This will also prove cheaper in the long run for you, as you will be able to order the juices (which is a whole other adventure, let me tell you!)

On the Nicotine strengths, my advice is to go to a place like http://http://www.mtbakervapor.com/ and get a wide range of strengths in a flavor that:
A) You think you will like/ love
B) be something that you can possibly mix into others later on

The beautiful thing about this method, is while it might be a bit more expensive up front, if you order a 24, 18, 12, and a 6mg of the same flavor, you can then mix them down as needed. If the 24 is to strong for a "normal vaping session (and that's different for each of us), you can always mix the 24 with some 18 to get some 21mg if the 18 is too light. its just a matter of the same amount of each, and some simple math (24+18=42/2=21) and you can get whatever YOU need. Not what some company decided was what you need.

Sorry if that was a bit of info overload, but take what you can use of it and make the best informed decision you can. :thumb:

Yeah... I started with Blus... tried a couple of other brands... Krave I think, and a third... Logic or something like that. I found that the Blus had a taste more akin to a burned analog... and amazing as it sounds, I actually was a little turned off by it. I actually preferred the Logic's taste, it was more sweet like chewing tobacco, but they petered out quick and had some quality control issues (leaking). Blus were easier to come by so it was either that or the cancer sticks. I chose the not so great Blus.

Luckily, I have an awesome shop near by house that is passionate about e-cigs, they got me into a eGo-T passthrough today... and after only a couple of hours with it, I am prolly never going to pick up a Blu again, short of an emergency need.

If you can only go the online route, hopefull someone here can point you to a good retailer.. go that route.

Thank you, and def nice of you to do for your friend, and congrats to him as well. I was just going to use the disposables (which are ridiculously priced) just to see where I am for levels. But now knowing that none of those strengths could be that perfect fit for me is a whole other ball game. So I do want to put my own liquid in it. I do want that flashy sparkled battery, but if I have to pass to kick the habit then so be it. But I can say that Vapor Couture is out. Somebody had mentioned the 777 Ladies signature, and you can refill them. Their strongest mg they have is 18mg. It is possible that I may need more. Can I just buy the juice from wherever and just refill those? They didn't seem horrible in price, especially comparing to VC. They don't have bad reviews either. They have the warranty and guarantee. All things that I am looking for. To me it does not seem like a bad investment if I can use other juices if need be. Don't see why I couldn't, but I am inexperienced at this so I don't want to assume anything. Thanks again.

I want to thank everyone for their responses. I understand from your own experiences that it has led you to the more advanced ways. Lol I am def. overwhelmed with all of the ways. Who knew? lol. I don't even know what half the stuff is. So I will be doing some research this weekend. I'd like to take some baby steps with it, and do hope I can do the 777 way I had mentioned (n not just for that flashy batt, but it is gorgeous lol). I just get that. Everything that was posted will def be looked into, and probably tried now or later. Again thank you all for taking the time to help me get on a nonsmoking path. :)

An NJoy from 7/11 was my first cig-a-like. I took a big drag and felt like my lungs were going to explode, it was great but at~$7.00 a pop very expensive. I noticed wv (West Virginia?) as your location. Volcano E-Cigs has some stores in in West Virginia. You may want to look them up, the are a good company and you have a hands on experience.

Thank you everyone for the quick replies. I will say most of what was said was a bit foreign to me but as it was mentioned with some research I'm sure to get the hang of it. I'm going to just have to go look myself for some disposables in the 18mg 24mg and 32mg <--never knew that was an option so thanks for that. If they taste terrible I'll deal with it. I just need to figure out where I am with the strength before investing into another product. Thx for mentioning the "pen size ecig" kc because that cld pose a problem as well for me too. And that wld immediately rule out vapor couture as much as want them lol. Thanks for the input on vapor couture wallelf. Again thanks for welcoming me and the input. I will keep you all posted on my ecig journey lol.

You want to get started off on the right foot? You want something that will be delicious, and will deliver the nicotine and throat hit you're after? Stop with the disposables, and stop using the "pen-size" or "mini" e-cigs. They're crap for what you're after.

You've heard "eGo" thrown around, but may not know what it means. An eGo battery (they come in MANY different sizes (read: lengths) and types) is the next step up from a pen-cig. They are more powerful, more versatile, and the charges last longer, all of which are things you will want, if you make the switch. When you start looking into this stuff (as you should, because the best research is that done by yourself), you will notice there are a lot of companies out there selling different types of eGos, and eGo clones (the knock-offs). Remember that, in this world, you get what you pay for, and it definitely pays off to spend the extra few bucks to get the nice stuff.

Now, as to my recommendations for your immediate purchases. Firstly, you'll need a battery (I actually recommend two, for backup in case one runs out of power/.....s the bed). Here is a set of eGo batteries in the 1100 mAh size, and here they are in the smaller 650 mAh size. Now, the mAh (or milli-amp hour) is a rating that denotes how much power the battery has, or more precisely, how long the battery will last on a single charge. There are other factors involved in battery life, but you'll come across all of those in your future research, and I won't expound upon it here as it's not really applicable to your situation (yet).

Second, you'll need some form of juice delivery system. You'll notice that in each link I provided, the batteries come with cases and chargers, as well as what is referred to as a "CE4 Clearomizer." A clearomizer is one method of juice delivery (which serves the purpose of getting the juice in contact with the heating coils (which the battery powers) in order to be vaporized and inhaled), but it is, in my humble opinion, the absolute WORST one out there. If you purchase either of those (or other) battery kits, you'll have them on hand to try yourself, but I DO recommend you also purchase a different system.

My recommended juice system? A cartomizer tank. You should be semi-familiar with the cartomizer (though in its sheistiest form) from your previous purchases: it's a hollow metal tube, with one open end, and one end that attaches to the battery, filled with a wicking material (usually Poly-fil), which surrounds a heating coil. There are many different types of these as well, but the main things to pay attention to (in this instance) is the battery connection type (almost always either 808 (bleh) or 510 (yay!)). You've heard 808 touted here, but I'll tell you, it's crap. Not that it performs badly (it absolutely doesn't; it's just a battery connection), but instead that it is outdated, and when you want to upgrade (which you will), it will not work with any serious equipment. Now to the "tank" aspect of a cartomizer tank: it is a tube (either plastic or glass) with two end caps, through which the cartomizer is threaded. (Here is a video breaking it all down for you, and it even shows the best method of refilling them!) It holds an excessive (almost) amount of juice, so you can vape all day without worrying about having to refill the carto.

I swear by these, and have since the day I started. One of the best tank systems out there. And, even better, they're on sale right now! Get a couple three of them and be set for a while. You should also pick up a 5-pack of replacement cartomizers, because they will die on you, eventually, and you don't wanna have to wait on the mailman TOO often (don't worry, you will plenty with the juices)! Oh, and lastly (on this topic), you'll probably want something to make your batt/tank setup look nice and smooth, so head on over here and pick up a cone/skirt to match (I tried to provide the perfect one in the link, but it may not work perfectly (these eGos are a bit confusing, even for me), so you may have to go out and find another, later on).

Now, to the last aspect of what you will need to get started, the juice. Or liquid. Or e-juice. Or e-liquid. Or Nicotine juice/liquid. It goes by many names...

Anyway, this will be your main ongoing expense (don't worry, even top-of-the-line juice is dirt cheap compared to the cheapest of cigarettes), and it's where you should really spend your money. It will take a while to find flavors that you love, and you will probably spend hours doing research on them, and it's all a very personal thing. But, what I can (and will) do here is provide you with a list of reputable juice vendors/makers, as well as a few other resources (oh, and there are also PLENTY of places to look right here on ECF). Here goes:

Juice Vendors/Makers:

* Mt. Baker Vapors. The cheapest trustworthy guys and gals out there. Top-quality, bargain prices, every single bottle is made to order, and shipping is ridiculously fast. I just ordered a few bottles last Friday, got here today (I live in Louisville, and they're in FL somewhere). The worst thing about MBV? So many damn flavors to choose from. Seriously, it's a bit overwhelming. Like, over 200 and counting.
* Mister E-Liquid. Good juices, good service, fast shipping, all at a good price. I keep a number of theirs in stock in my vaperoom.
* The Vapor Chef. Another who makes each order, to order. Has some absolutely delicious vapes. (I recommend the Honey Pearry and the Hobbe's Blood, though the Unicorn Poop ain't bad, either!) Definitely a bit more expensive, but remember, you get what you pay for!
* Ginger's E-Juice, Inc. Damn good juice. Can't say enough good things about it. Absolute top-quality. Expensive, but worth it, without a doubt.

All of these companies have nicotine available, in all their juices, in anywhere from 0 mg to 32-36 mg/mL. I'd recommend you keep the mixture of PG (propylene glycol) to VG (vegetable glycerine) at around 80/20 - 70/30, as that will keep the flavor kickin' and the throat hit like a freight train (which seems to be what you're after)!

Resources:
* /r/electronic_cigarette. A reddit community of wonderful people who want to help you in any way they can. A bit more advanced than where you are now, but with a little research, you'll be able to understand what's going on, and get all sorts of great info (plus see some of the coolest rigs out there).
* Spinfuel. An online magazine devoted to all things vaping. GREAT juice reviews, some of the best, most-reliable I've ever come across.

So, that's about it. With this info, you should be able to go out, get some good ...., and have a happy vaping experience. There are many things I did not go over, because you're just not ready for it. Yet. Get out there, do your research, and discover the wonderful world that is vaping. Safe clouds!

Thats what I needed a breakdown of everything. I started doing some research and came across the halo trinity kit? I cant check your links to see if that is the same as everything you had mentioned. But from what it said about it sounds close. I will def check those links out tomorrow morning. If the halo trinity kit is the same and you know off hand lmk what you think of that if you wouldnt mind. Youre very blunt and to the point. You have aLot of info and thats just what I needed. Again I will def check on those links. I did like the halo system but if thats still not right my apologies. Im not trying to waste anyones time. Thx for all that info.

Glad we could be of help!

EDIT: Ok, I just saw your questions regarding the Halo Tritan. Personally, I have not used it; I went from mini- to Bolt-style to variable wattage in a little over three weeks (this is precisely why I recommend doing lots of research before upgrading; had I done mine, I could've saved myself around $100), so didn't get to try out a lot of specific equipment. You've basically gotten the nice overview of all of my amassed knowledge. BUT, here is a video, by SmokenJoey of Spinfuel, reviewing this very system. I'd trust what he says, as he's a main contributor to Spinfuel magazine, and they really know their stuff.

Good luck, and safe clouds!

EDIT 2: Ok, watching the vid now. So far, the only problem I have with the system is that it's 808-threaded, which, as I mentioned before, will prove problematic when upgrading later on. But, if you do end up purchasing it, it only comes with clearomizers, so if you don't plan on buying a tank system, I'd be happy to mail one to you. It'd have a 6 mL tank with metal end-caps and an 808-threaded tank carto (these terms all starting to make sense yet?). Let me know if you're interested, and if so, what color your batteries will be, so I can try to match.

I think that's it!

Actually smokenjoey is how I came across the tritan. I've been speaking with him about some others, and he told me that tritan is very good. and now im lost again...tank system? I thought that had everything I needed. I did notice the 808 thread. but figured I wouldn't need anything else being that everything came in the kit. I was trying to give the link but having probs with their site.

Finally got their site to work....http://www.halocigs.com/triton-pink-starter-kit.html

New here but thought u would like to hear some rookie input. Started with Blu, then an 808 stick battery (EONsmoke), then V2. Read countless posts and threads on how to get more out of the experience while spending less. Ego, clearomizer, tank, ejuice, all seemed too complicated. Then back to heavy research online and especially here. Most people love the 510 connection, and granted it is probably the best way to go. However I had built up a large amount of 808 threaded cartomizers trying flavors, and did not want to waste them. (insert buyer's remorse I told ya so here) So to make a long story short I purchased the halo triton tank system and absolutely love it. Very user friendly and easy to refill. I know it's not a provari, but I am not ready for one yet. This I will tell you is a great starting point for anyone who wants to quit. Loads of vapor, great taste, long lasting battery(and pretty cool colors)
