You try these other peoples mods are you using the same juice with the same builds. Or are you just going by expressed random perception and opinion.
Could be. Bad electrical connections are main source of hot buttons and lost voltage. The build and the battery can also lead to hot buttons. What are you using for batteries? and what is you build?
Best way to clean the contact is to not let them get dirty. How to clean depend on what is fouling them and what they are made from. In this case a contact point is any metal to metal contact, that is in the current path. Not just the things touching the battery or on the end of the switch.
My way of keeping my contacts clean on my brass mech. Is to wipe them off, every time they are exposed.. On my tube mesh, that mean body threads, switch contact and Pos post , at each battery change, 510 every time the topper is removed. About once a month, I break the mod down and polish all contact points. In use this mod looks old and beatup, stains, patina and scratches and such. But inside where you don't normally see, is cleaner and shinier than the day it was made.
Great advice on above... If you wanna make a habit of using mechs, then taking apart and cleaning, mainly switch and threads, is mandatory... Some of the current is used to heat your button instead of being used at the coil... The lower resistance you use, the more important it is to have clean contacts/threads, as the "point-of-error" gets lesser...
Use e.g. isopropanol or e.g. vodka if you don't have it and scrub switch/threads down good e.g. with a toothbrush and cotton-balls/cloth. You can also use vinegar or lemon-juice with salt added, or ketchup.
As a last resort, when everything is perfectly clean, then you can try changing the spring as that can also be the culprit, but it's mostly with clones that's an issue I believe...

Ketchup and an electric toothbrush, paying special attention to the contacts and threads, rinse and dry. A spotlessly clean mech is a good mech. If this doesn't do it, try some Noalox or the like on the threads as you may be getting some micro-arcing causing the it to heat up.

I've tried several builds and mod was barely used but I cleaned it anyway. I'm going to play with the spring now. Battery is Mxjo 3000mah 35a. Resistance I use is between .25 and .31

Update.... I made a new spring with some 22awg and it made a difference. Going to try and find magnets to fix completely. Thanks so much everyone
