I've noticed that some of my cartos burn much hotter than others. All the cartos from one company burn hot enough to be uncomfortable to the lips, and others from another company give me no problem. Evidentally, not all cartos are created equal.

I find this on all cartos to some extent and worse on others. I pop the end piece and cut about an 1/8 off a 901 cartridge and then bend in the carto end a bit for a tighter fit. Eliminates the hot problem. You could also get a 'drip tip' from nhaler or a superT tip from super T. Probably other fixes too - seems I saw one with a 801 flat tip. But, yeah, without that some can burn you.
Even cartos from the same company perform differently. I have some that vape like mad, and some that have an airy draw with jack for vapor production.
Even if they're made from the same machine and go through the same manufacturing process there are bound to be duds.
They're kinda like vaccuum tubes. You can buy the same brand and type, but when you go to stick them in an amplifier you'll probably have to tweak the bias because the specs vary from tube to tube. So goes with cartoz.
