I'm wondering how you all would handle this. I order blank cartos all the time from various companies. Many times there is a bum carto or two in the packs, but I never say anything because it seems so ridiculous to contact a company about one or two cartos. On the other hand, this has happened frequently enough that I've probably paid for 10-15 bad cartos. Would any of you contact the company if you got bad product even if it was a small thing like a carto or two? And if so, what would your expectations be for the problem being taken care of?

I haven't experienced that exact problem myself, but if I had received any 'bad' product from anyone I would surely keep it off to the side and remember where it came from. Then if I had let's say 5 bad ones from the same vendor, I would contact them and tell them that I had the 5 and just wanted to let them know. It's not so much the cost or inconvenience, but that unless the vendor knows that he or she has been selling an unusually higher than normal faulty product they received from their supplier, then they won't do anything. But if their customers tell them there is a problem, then they can speak with their supplier or change to another one. Obviously it's bad for business to sell crap, but unless customers tell the seller, they never know.

Another problem though is that unfortunately there are some who take advantage of sellers good nature and warranty. They will keep a bunch of attys (for example) that have long given up the ghost (died) and find a vendor online who will guarantee replacement of bad attys. Having purchased attys from a particular vendor, they will send a bunch back and demand replacement. The vendor looks closely at the returned attys and discovered that they are not the exact brand that they ever sold. Now starts a war between supposed 'good' customer and seller and it can get nasty.

If it were me, I would honestly contact the seller and just inform them about the few bad cartos you've received over such-and-such a period of time from them. You are not asking for replacements outright, but instead are just trying to help them out be letting them know. This way they at least become aware of what may be a trend of bad product from a certain supplier, and in my experience, many do not hesitate to send replacements without even asking for them, free of charge.

Of course if it is a battery charger or something like that, I would contact them for replacement if it falls within the warranty period, but for smaller items like you blank carts, I would do the above.

Just my thoughts.
