This site is so big that I haven't found the answer to this question yet, so I'm asking here.

Maybe I'm vaping too much but I'll take 3 or 4 drags off my PV and a few minutes later I'm having a hot flash. I've got a couple years to go before menopause and I hadn't had hot flashes before vaping. I never had them while smoking analogs either. Am I getting too much nicotine? I vape a 12 during the day and a 6 at night.

Is it only happening in the day? If so, try vaping just the 6mg and see if it makes a difference. FWIW, I'm past the worst of the hot flashes, but still get the buggers once in awhile. I haven't had a problem vaping, but fair warning for future reference - what sets them off varies greatly from person to person. For a friend it was using her hair dryer, for me it was cleaning the cat litter box - go figure.

If the hot flashes continue, get hormones tested. Even if you feel you're a couple years away from menopause, symptoms can start a few years ahead. Plus, some women start menopause in 30's.

Gosh, I hope I'm not starting menopause now. I'd like to get all the analog chemicals out of my system and my system back to normal before menopause. How long do you think it takes off of analogs to get back to normal? I've smoked for 25+ years.

I don't think there is any set time.

Menopause isn't an overnight transition. Perimenopause can last anywhere from 2 to 7 years.

How's your blood pressure and heart rate? I quit cigs in April, found a good nic level, but by July I had higher than normal bp and rapid heartbeat (95- ish resting rate).
My doctor ran blood tests including a thyroid panel, and I was diagnosed with hypERthyroidism...and some of the symptoms are high bp, heart rate and hot flashes. (I, too, thought I was starting menopause a little early.). It seems that the smoke in cig smoke has something called thio-cyanate which adversely affects the thyroid. For some reason, cig smoking can mask the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, but vaping shows the symptoms more clearly.

Good luck to you!

Hi, I'm a physician and first I want to say that there is no real way to tell if you're in peri menopause without a blood test. And no matter when your mom went into "the pause", it may not be the same for you. So if this persists, get the blood test done at your drs. Do you only get the flashes while vaping? After? Try to note when you get them, it may help you determine if quitting smoking is tweaking your hormonal levels, or if you're really about to experience the "change". Good luck!
