Hot Rodded MOD. "Cutting the ring on a VTR"

Here are some before and after pics of My Itaste VTR. I cut the ring off and ground off the inner ring lip w/ a dremmel tool so I could fit my Russian 91% tank on it w/ out using that stupid extension. lol. I used blue painters tape around the areas I was grinding so I didn't over grind and scare areas I didn't want to. The small round grinding wheel was the same diameter as the inner ring lip area I was grinding off, so I slowly went back and forth w/ it. This generated a lot of heat, which made me paranoid about damaging the electronics inside the mod. So I would grind for a few seconds then stop for a few seconds. My roto zip blows air out of one side, so while stopped I would use that blown air onto the area I was grinding off. I put my VTR into a small clamp to hold it in place while grinding, being careful not to squeeze it too hard w/ the clamping force. The grind came out so smooth I didn't bother polishing it. You cant see that area w/ the tank on anyway. Plus, when I put the small buffing wheel onto my roto zip it shot across the room bouncing off the wall. lmao. Thats when I decided I was done. lmao. A roto zip is just like a dremmel tool but a little bit bigger and has more RPM. The bit box I bought at Lowes was $5 bucks. :) Hope My pics post, that was the whole point of this post. Adding photos is not a straight forward deal at this sight I guess?!

Looks good. Makes an otherwise backup device come back out into regular rotation. Mine is for out and about. Easier to carry than a tube mod looking like a light saber. lol. I did mine too a short time ago. I put some pics here at the end of the thread. All thats left is to get some compound and polish it out to a nice mirror finish.
