Hot spots!!!!

Ok so... iM new to rebuilding. I oxidized my ss mesh wrapped my coil to about 1.8 ohms and only 1/2 of them glow red.... how do i fix this, and how do i insure this doesn't happen again???

This is for a protank, how do you guys do ss mesh? Videos, photos, they all help. I'm at work at the moment with a 1/2 working head no good! !!!!!

I guess, regardless the best way to solve the problem is to move the coils around until they are all glowing nice and evenly. I've found that with some particularly irritating coils my best bet is to just use the drill bit method. Just google Petar K method and you'll find a slew of videos.

No problem. On an unrelated note how are you liking your protank? I've been thinking about getting my girlfriend one but was curious as to wether they sorted the gurgle leak problem.

I've never had a problem with that the only thing wrong imo is at high voltage it doesnt wick as well :/ could be my 60/40 pg/vg ratio but not sure... once i get the rebuilding done right i hope it wasnt a waste of money :/

Yeah I had the same issues with my Protank. Couldn't get it to wick correctly stock. Rebuilt with mesh and she wicked great but would reach really high temperatures

Yea even with a few coils heating up she gets hot for me really makes me mad i have bobas, gorilla, and some ecto waiting for me till i figure out how to do this correctly

Hey just a fix I saw on youtube awhile back, but can't remember from who...works pretty good though. So the point is to get a build up of carbon under the coil to insulate it and stop the hot spot. Oxidize and quench the ss mesh wick about 3 times with some spare clear juice if you have some or just water. After the 3rd time just add a little bit of the juice you want to use to the area you want to wrap your coil on. Next add a small piece of cigarette wrapping paper (like ZigZag paper) to the wet area covering the mesh. Wrap your coil on this paper. After checking ohms, pulse the coil and the paper will burn off and leave a small layer of carbon between the coil and mesh and give you a even glowing coil pretty much every time without adjusting. Do it on my RSST and works great. BTW I was just wondering...I thought the Protank had a replaceable coil head or am I missing another Genny type protank?

Its replaceable i just wanted to rebuild it rip trippers on youtube has a a video and i wanted to try it out i have a v3 and igo-L coming in so wanted to get some practice

That IGO-L will be a breeze compared to a genesis. That will be the true gem of your collection. Use fat silica, and even fatter ribbon wire.
