If you're using a Zmax, I would add another coil to try to increase the ohms to where a typical short would not trigger the Zmax to stop working. Wrap the 32 gauge wire gently around the wick, it must just touch but not be tight. If it doesn't touch everywhere (very small gaps), that's better than it being too tight. When you first put power on the coil, pulse it on and off. Leave it on long enough to see if there is a short. As long as there is a short, keep pulsing. Have patience. If a short does not go away after a couple minutes, nudge it slightly with a small screwdriver or a toothpick just enough to move it slightly. Start this process with low power and as you get the shorts to go away raise the power to what you will be vaping at. Patience is key. When you start to vape, tilt the PV so the juice bathes the top of the wick, known as the 'Gennie tilt'.

In the meantime, it's good to have another PV setup so you can vape while you work on the AGA-T :thumb:

I had abit of a job with hot spots at the top.
There were 2 things I found which helped to eliminate this.
1. Put a washer between the post nuts where the wire is. (closes the gap between coil and post )
2. Depending on which way you wrap the coil, you can pull the wick closer to the post.
For me I found it was the gap between wick and post that caused the issue and as soon as I made the gap smaller the hot spot issue disappeared.
