the grey ultrafires were the same ones the OP had trouble with. I use the trustfire flames and the aw +power in mine and i dont have the heating problem

Maybe you were thinking of another thread. I'm the OP here & it wasn't a battery problem. I'm using the TrustFire flames as well. Turns out that I had a defective box mod, and madvapes is replacing it. Hopefully, problem solved.

I had a defective box & have a replacement on the way from MadVapes. If heat is still an issue, then I'll cut down an old southbridge heatsink to fit & mount it w/ some TIM tape.

Glad to hear its on its way, Paul from Madvapes also said they will be sending me a replacement also. I do hope it makes it by the end of this week. I don't know if they shipped it yet or not cause I haven't received any email or confirmation. Did you ? I don't want to be a bother to them on such a question since i know they are busy so just their word is fine. I can wait.

Well it gets pretty warm i'll say that. Perhaps one day they will havesomething along the lines of a LM2596 or another regulator that runs cooler.
For the money the one from madvapes is a good introduction in vv otherwise.

Count good that your getting a replacement, now the board does run warm but should not give you the problems you been having .
The one i have runs warm when im vaping heavy and the other with the Lm2596 does not get warm period comparing the 2 of them.
But thats another story anyways it will get warm but not hot .
Hope it works out for you cause there very nice little boxes and mine has been working excellent.

Thanks Dieseler! I'd heard so many good things about the inexpensive MadVapes VV box mod. I just want to get a feel for VV and see if it's for me before I throw big bucks around or get elbow deep into a mod.
